Dame Judi Dench is the School of Acting. If you study her form, voice, movements, tone etc; you will have saved years on acting school. The women can do almost anything. What a Dame. I love her work. I have seen old works of which she has done, as well as recent and I am never disappointed. Keep up the good work Judi, and God Bless.
This year's Oscar's recognized some good impersonations (albeit good performances on the whole), but when someone is as consistent as Dame Judi there is bound to be another little gold man bound for England. I think she might just make it a golden performance...what better than to be given a little gold man at the 80th Acadmemy Awards! What performance you ask...this is Dame Judi Dench, just wait...there should be a few to choose from. Judi Dench, a total Rockstar in every sense of the word!!
Judi is a genious when it comes to acting and proves it in Notes on A Scandal, her best performance to date. Barbara is so completely beliveable. There other oscar nominees dont come close to her ability, she should have won the Oscar and Bafta. Then again she should win everytime. Because when it comes to her standard of acting nobody comes close. She raises the bar everytime.
Like most Yanks my first exposure to Dame Dench's brilliance was through old sitcoms on the public station.
I was able to catch a performance of David Hare's The Breath of Life with both her and Dame Maggie Smith. A highlight in anyone's life!
Her performance in Note On A Scandal, along with the exemplary cast was phenomenal. However I was sharply reminded of The Killing Of Sister George. In some ways this was a disappointing throw back to old dark times of the caricature of the predatory lesbian. This needs to be said. It takes nothing away from her performance and a deserved nomination for an Oscar.
Dame Judi Dench is the best actress on earth and deserves this award so much! Without her I don't think my life could function properly. She is simply the most outstanding and wonderful actress ever. As Rocky would put it "Rock On", Dame Judi Dench,"Rock On!"
Judi has raised the bar too high. She should have won all the oscars for which she was nominated..but that leaves every out doesnt it?
Judi Dench has this fantastic skill of drawing you in to her charachter and making them so believable. Her second Oscar is long overdue and if there is any justice, this should be signed , sealed and delivered. You go Judi..............fantastic!
Judi teaches us all the upmost inner fears in all of us that should not be let out. He role as a fellow teacher turned obsessive abt overcoming loneliness is sure to be a hit with the academy... whether she wins the best actress or not, she has done her job outstandingly. And abt the oscar, Helen Mirren might be the Queen but Judi Dench is Princess Diana brought back to life. Now who deserves more on that note?
I admit i am not going to see the film because I am 11 years old and not aloud. But I must say that Judi Dench is the greatest actress in the history of the world and if the trailer is any indication she is going to blow the roof off thee freaking Kodak theater.
She is SO incredible! Judi, you rock! I mean, If Kathy Bates can get an Oscar for "Misery" (albeit a great performance and great actress). Judi Dench makes Kate's "dirty birdy" routine look like a girl scout outting. Hey Oscar...Judi's back!
Judi always nails the character spot-on, totally mind-blowing! Her Lady Macbeth would have made Shakespeare, himself, believe there were no lines written on a page. The writer of this adaptation is beyond lucky to have Judi Dench breathe life into his script. Without her, Barbara would be inconceivable on every level. Judi, you deserve this Oscar...hands-down!

There is no comparison. Judi Dench has created her own pedestal. She is like no other (Meryl Streep and others have their way as well, but Dame Judi is something else). Dame Judi Dench tells stories with her soul, her heart, her everything. She will always be one of a kind, an anomaly, a universally unique person. Dame Judi Dench is a hero through and through...true to art, living, and the storytelling of life! Just brilliant!!
