I'm a total hopeless romantic and this movie just did it perfectly for me! I know that a lot of people will find this movie predictable and cliche, but I've watched it four times in the past five days! I love it! Especially the last scene, at the party, where Poupi sends his nephew to Kaitlynn, and then looks up at Georgia - the look on his (absolutely, amazingly gorgeous) face is so tender, like he's truly in love with her!! My heart melts every time. And I always rewind it and watch it again, I just can't help myself. I hope that maybe my life will play out in this way<333

If you don't like predictable love stories filled with cliches then this movie is not for you. If you don't like humor and beautiful scenery then this.
There are so many possible tag lines for the new romantic comedy, My Life in Ruins. The first one that came to my mind was “My big fat Greek".

The film is set on location in Greece and Alicante, in Spain, including Guadalest and Javea. This was the first time that an American film studio was allowed to film on location at the Acropolis; the Greek government gave the studio its approval after Vardalos sought permission to film several scenes there.

When watching My Life in Ruins, you would notice a couple of such characters as reckon themselves quite funny, but in actual they are not as they think they are. The same can be said about the movie, as you would find it forced and flat in an attempt of a cheerful and occasionally screwball comedy with a tincture of romance.

Can anybody tell me what the name of the song is from this movie that goes "you make me happy...." ??

Sorry, I'm a fan....but this movie falls pretty flat. The comedy writing is contrived and predictable. There were some laugh out loud moments. But they were too few and far between. Most of the characters are cardboard cut-outs. They are unbelievable and obnoxious. And the story? Well, we've seen it a million times before.

I loved "My Big Fat Greek Wedding".. I wish I was just as talented to write about the Asian American perspective. I'm Korean American and totally understood the dual cultural complexities. I'm sure I'll love this as well.

A Greek tour guide named Georgia attempts to recapture her kefi (Greek for “mojo”) by guiding a ragtag group of tourists around Greece and showing them the beauty of her native land. Along the way, she manages to open their eyes to the wonders of an exotic foreign land while beginning to see the world through a new set of eyes in the process.
