Slumdog is one of the most heartwarming movies to be made in recent years. The acting is wonderful, genuine and heartfelt, and the story is fantastic. It certainly deserved all of teh oscars it won this year!Kahuki Resources
Slumdog Millionaire is one of the best films of the last ten years. It fully deserved all its Oscars, adn was a delight to watch. It's one of those films which you can watch over and over again. Magnificent! wordpress theme
"Slumdog Millionaire" is a drama exposing the tragic effects of poverty in gigantic Indian cities like Mumbai that is also fused with a modern day Indian fairytale. Jamal Malik is a young man on India's "Who Wants to Be A Millionaire" and is a question away from one million dollars when he's arrested on suspicion of cheating. Because Jamal is from the slums of India and has no educational background, it seems entirely improbable if not impossible that Jamal could make it this far, but each question is connected with distinct and sometimes painful memories for Jamal. It's as if he is destined to win, even though he only went on the show to impress a girl he has loved his whole life, Latika.

This was a film to define the term film. This was an experience that captured me visually but most of all emotionally. Kudos to everyone involved in this film! (especially those children, amazing!)
(SIR)Danny Boyle u r
the god who breathed life into the characters and extracted the best out of each and every one in the movie
As a director u directed a movie and with u r vision and the magic u brought the character's to life and showed all the performer's in the movie a new DIRECTION to their life's.
Keep Up Your Good Work
Definitively the climax on the journey of Mr. Boyle. From the human decadence and treasons of Shall Grave and Trainspotting, the terror and anguish of 28 Day, the despair of a dying star in Sunshine, to the very bottom of human heart. Thank you Mr. Boyle and thanks to the entire cast for show us something we almost forgotten: LOVE. ¡MARAVILLOSA! Todos al cine a disfrutar de SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE.

I hadn't been blown away like this by a story since 1998's 'Life is Beautiful'. 'Slumdog Millionaire' was awesome!

VITALIDAD AVASALLADORA Y UNA MAGICA CONEXIÓN CON LA REALIDAD CONTEMPORÁNEA
Me encantó!

Having lived in a similar environment in (then East Pakistan 1970) Bangladesh, I was mesmerized by the reality of what I saw last Thursday. We don't go to movie theaters often, in fact the last movie I saw at a Theatre was Titanic. My favorite movie of all tome used to be Midnight Express, now Slumdog Millionaire has trumped ALL. As a guy, I try to hold emotion in, however the realism of story line, combined with excellence in acting, combined with the unforgettable score, brought water to my eyes and applause by all of us in the theatre. I could and will watch this movie again and again. I have already purchased the CD and it rivets me to the drivers seat to and from my commute to work! I applaud every person involved in this truly outstanding movie. Call it an epic today!
Slumdog Millionaire is an onion which reveals layer after layer of exquisite, excruciating beauty each time you peel it (I watched it twice , and still find a yearning within me to see it again, and again!). It is a sumptuous feast for the eyes – it transcends the slums and reveals what lies at its core; its humanity.
This film is a journey, one which you have to be a part of, if not you feel as though you have not quite lived – A. R. Rahman’s brilliant score grabs hold of you and never lets go(O' Saya still haunts me to this day). Danny Boyle is a master, who directs with such passion, confidence ,and heart, he ultimately leaves you speechless. Slumdog Millionaire can be described as many things, at the top of that list it has to be said that it is quite simply a masterpiece.

I would nominate the kids (Jamal, Latika, Salim) in the movie for Oscars. They deserve it really. I am touched by the movie, cast, and especiallly music.

I hope Indian directors(specially tollywood) will learn a lesson by seeing the movie, direction should be passion not to make money
A great motion picture! Rarely have I seen a movie that told a story with such depth at every level. I took my son to see it and he reluctantly agreed, thinking this was just another love story. He came out blown away by the every aspect of the movie including the music, which is incredible. Great acting, great story, well crafted, intense and realistic in portraying life in Mumbai.
O saya.... what an out of world song
A.R. Rahman you are god of music....
I love to listen this soundtrack on & on.....
a must watch movie for anyone who has traveled in India or is planing to do so..
For Indian's we got to see this movie..
I hope Johar's and Bhatt's also take a cue and start making impact full movies like this one..
This has to be one of the all times best movie..... It literally keeps you on the edge of your seats.... forget your popcorn's because you will forget to eat them anyways.
And the music..... it is out of the world... Best score ever for a film. A.R.Rahman is a music god. I would advice people to get the original soundtrack and not the pirated one.
And for the movie, please watch it in the cinemas. It is visually fantastic as well.
Hats of Danny Boyle and A.R.Rahman.

This movie will knock you on your ass. I think more movies should be made like this, instead of the standard hollywood candy-coating that most movies get. This is a film that makes you think and feel at the same time. Bravo
This is one good movie to watch and remember again... not for the movie it is but for the movie that has been made... actually the author of the novel on which this movie was based must also be given credit (esp. its his debut book)
one of the most amazing movies i have ever seen! beautiful, original, captivating love story. grabbed my heart and held it throughout the entire film.
damn, i will have to see it while its in theater, there must be something in it thats making everyone to priase this movie.
As the credits rolled at the Alamo Drafthouse in Austin on Friday night, the audience clapped and cheered for this movie. You stand up reluctantly because you know that movies like these don't come by often enough and you don't want it to end. Danny Boyle takes unknown faces, adds a stellar crew and a terrific soundtrack from Rahman to create a movie that epitomizes the spirit of humanity.
Set in Mumbai, this is a Dickensian story of a slumboy whose life is in equal parts love, passion, luck and destiny. You care for this slumboy and root for him till the very end, leaning forward and holding your breath as he walks his tightrope life without a safety net. It could be that despite incredible odds and a life characterized by brutality, Jamal is pure. Despite the harshness of his environment which enslaves his brother.
This stark love story is anchored in Jamal's fierce intent to find his childhood friend,Latika against all odds. Love, passion and courage create luck and can rewrite destiny as it is said that even the gods can't fight that kind of force. How often do we see that kind of faith and trust. Jamal journeys from the slums of Mumbai to Agra and back, landing finally on the set of "Who wants to be a Millionaire".
Was it just Destiny that brings him on the gameshow with a slim chance of winning millions...not sure. Destiny can be fickle. Which is why no astrologer or palmist can accurately predict the future. They may be able to see the signposts. There are a few pre determined conditions that are present in life (your birth, parents, place etc) and multiple cross roads that take us in different directions. And who can forget cause and effect.
Two brothers, same environment, different choices and therein lies the heart of this tale. We are not just the sum of our experiences but how we interpret our experiences.
Just got back from seeing this film. Good story, if a little predictable. But this film is worth seeing for the exceptional cinematography!
I wasn't expecting much from the film as I didn't think the book compared well to other recent and more substantial pieces on India such as 'White Tiger' or 'A Fine Balance'. Like 'Shantaram','Q & A' the novel on which the film is based presents few insights about India but is mainly a good yarn.
The film is something else. It captures India's dark underbelly - her extreme poverty, communal tensions, her child labour, begging as syndicated big business - something 'A Fine Balance' considers in depth.
The film's technical work is excellent providing a clear visual on Indan life as it unfolds on the streets. The cinematography is outstanding, the pace of the film is brisk holding the attention of the audience throughout. The dance sequence at the end was marvellous fun and lifted the mood of the film which otherwise is quite grim in places. In Slumdog's darker moments it resembles Mira Nair's 1988 film 'Salaam Bombay' which at the time was a controversial portrayal of slum life from an abandoned boy's perspective. It remains an Indian classic which 'Slumdog' is bound to become.
As a 25 year veteran of regular travel to India I have met Salim, Jamal and Latika numerous times, while the story line is essentially fiction, the film is faithful to the reality of many young lives in South Asia. I would highly recommend it as both an accurate portrayal of India's struggle and a touching commentary on India's refusal to be defeated.

You should hand it to Simon Beaufoy who wrote the screenplay and who added the lovestory to the movie which Q&A didn't have.
thank you
