What a shame to pay less than $1,000 for the actual real actors of the movie ! As you can see this movie is full of emotion and yet some people (producer and director) have not a drop of feelings !! Those kids gave the best performance, better than some well known actors in the movie !
If nothing decent is done for those real stars by the producer and director, I think I personally will never see this movie again !!
To those child actors, I give them a standing ovation !!!

It is used in a very specific setting: the angry police inspector, when he is violently interrogating the hero, Jamal, whom he suspects of cheating on the “Who Wants to be a Millionaire” show, scoffs: “What can a slumdog possibly know?” At this point in the movie, the inspector is the antagonist — certainly not a character with whom we are expected to agree.
By the end of the movie, the inspector has changed his attitude toward Jamal completely. He believes him, sets him free and roots for him to win. Clearly, the term “slumdog” is not the director’s evaluation of Jamal — or anyone in the slums. If anything, by the end of this gritty yet upbeat movie, Jamal triumphs over his many enemies and turns out to be top dog!

This is a great film: great actors (especially the kids. they were amazing and so natural), great cinematography, great story. DB is a really amazing director. He makes great choices with being a part of great films.

AWESOME...Kudos(jai ho) to Danny Boyle. I watched it thrice. It is a masterpiece in cinema. A R Rahman music is mindblowing. If somebody has not purchased the music album of Slumdog, you are missing a masterpiece music dude.
I would nominate the kids (Jamal, Latika, Salim) in the movie for Oscars. They deserve it really. I am touched by the movie, cast, and especiallly music.

I have seen movie last night and I was watching it again in my dreams. It can inspire so many lives as it give reason for hope. Should be included by psychiatrists to treat their patients to treat depression.
Having gone through similar struggles myself, this movie touched me in a way no movie ever has before;almost left halfway through the movie because the strugle those orphans were going through touch a very personal cord with me. Deffinitely one of my most favorite movies of all time.

I am from India and although my parents provided me with a comfortable life, I had a few friends in school who were poor. I was humbled by their cheerfulness in spite of what they were going through, and I kept their friendship as long as I was in that school. This movie is the best I had seen and brings out the best in human spirit to survive against struggle. watched it and loved it - for those of us who have been to Mumbai (i worked there for a while and know the slums well!); it was completely REAL and a 'slice of life'. its also a true embodiment of the Indian Spirit and the sense of desperation which drives the country and amazingly also results in its spiritual awareness and peace.

The movie was unlike any I've ever seen. It truly captured the resilience of the human spirit and opens the audience's eyes- and hearts- to life in the slums of Mumbai. Its realistic yet uplifting portrayal and storyline is unique in every sense of the word and is one that is definitely powerful enough to leave you speechless.
Intense and Thought Provoking
The movie was incredible, like nothing else I've seen. I hadn't seen a Danny Boyle film before, but I think I'll check out Trainspotting. It's not an amusing or entertaining film. A couple next to us walked out after 20 minutes watching life in the slums, but it was their loss. Yes I appreciate the bounty we have in our country but I also appreciate the peace of the Indian spirit. I've been talking about the movie and recommending it every day for a week now.

I actually have seen this movie twice already. I actually had to drive over an hour to see it the second time with my wife and she of coursed love it as much as I did. One of the top three movies I have ever seen!
The director has a powerful story-tellng and narrative style. It is amazing how he intertwines Mumbai's slums with five-star culture surrounding it, romance. I mean mad love with brutal crime, funny and intelligent and ultimately telling the story how destiny takes over in this slum whiz kid. an ultimate crowd pleaser with charming music, photography, even though I personally do not prefer HD digital camera for fast action in slums and night shots. Just go and watch it without any prejudice. A great movie!

Saw it last night. Extraordinary storytelling, breathtaking cinematography, complex characters, at times brutal, at times lovely. What a stunning achievement by the amazing Danny Boyle and this astonishing cast of actors. Bravo.

I have never felt so invested in two leading characters and how things will work out for them. It's an extraordinary tapestry of adventure, action, comedy, tenderness, travel, stunning and shocking visuals, brilliant score, beautiful performances, cool and creative camera-work, souped-up editing that adds not distracts from the story - I LOVED LOVED LOVED this movie!

Just a great movie. Story, score, acting, directing, light and everything involved. Plenty of turns and character growth. Ten of us went and ten agreed, a must see.
