This is by far the best movie I have seen in the last few decades. The story's narrative force totally spellbound me and I was completely drawn into the character's lives. The music and soundtrack by Indian Maestro A.R. Rahman is absolutely enchanting and energizes the plot and narration to a sizzling triumph. This is one movie that I will always remember watching and will be delighted to watch again in the years to come.

what was the answer to the last question. who has scored the most test centuries in test cricket?

jack hobbs (197 first class centuries)

I just loved the movie. It's amazing. i also love the soundtrack. :)
Everyone should see this movie!

Absolutely amazing film, intense, gripping and emotional! Was definitely not expecting what I saw. Very Pleasantly surprised and exceeded my expectations in every way. Thats when you know you have seen a good film!

I never wanted it to end, I was transfixed until the final credit was up! This movie hit my emotions like a Mack truck. I can't remember the last time a movie affected me like that. I'm better for having seen SlumDog Millionaire.
Thanks for making it.

I love the movies and have seem hundreds. This is one of just three I could see over and over, and would say are perfect in every way.

Bravo, all involved in the making!

In addition to being a fantastically great film, the credits at the end are another level of joy! Stay -- probably don't have to tell you to do so as you will be riveted to your seat.

SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE
Anil Kapoor, Irrfan Khan, Dev Patel, Freida Pinto, 2008

Synopsis
An 18 year old orphan somehow gets on India's version of 'Who Wants To Be A Millionaire". On the show he answers all the questions correctly up to 10 million rupees. Right before the final question for 20 million, he is arrested for suspicion of cheating.

During his interrogation, he reveals in great detail how his life on the streets of Mumbai taught him the answers to all the questions, from the answer to the very first question about 'Amitabh Bachchan' to the very last about 'the cricketer who scored the most centuries'.

My Review
It was 1988 when Mira Nair went to India to shoot her famous film 'Salaam Bombay!". A memorable film about street kids in that city. Here we are 20 years later, with another movie set in the same place.

Slumdog Millionaire combines a very effective mix of flashbacks about the main characters childhood and teenage years with the "Millionaire" TV show. The acting works and the story is quite an educational experience for the average North American viewer, as the movie takes you from Mumbai to Delhi and shows you various aspects of poor inner city Indian life.

Combined with a great soundtrack by music genius A.R. Rahman, this film may become the very first from India to be nominated for an Academy Award for Best Motion Picture.

touched a cord deep in my heart. I love India for every thing that it is and will be.

I've been singing the praises of this movie to everyone I know. It's hard to get average folk to watch a movie that is not considered a blockbuster. This film is absolutely amazing!!! The only way I can spread the news is by inviting people to see it with me. I'm on my third watch tonight. It's that good!!!! I hope it wins an Academy Award!!! #1 Slumdog FAN!!!

I so agree with you. It is one of the best movies I have ever seen. I have never had a movie provoke such emotion..amazing!

Waiting to see this movie and will let you know afterwards

It's a song composed by the greatest Indian Composer AR Rahman.

BESTT MOVIEE EVVERR X:X:X:X:

The trailer music gives me goosebumps and I relly wna see this movie..is there any online website to see this movie.

Question! I read something about the torture in this film. Could anyone briefly tell me what this entails for the viewer? Like the person asking about sex scenes, I need to know if it's going to be inappropriate, because torture is a sensitive subject. Thanks.

we walked out. couldn't stand the torture scenes. too brutal to watch for me to enjoy the message of the movie.

The 'R' rating is really crazy. there is nothing bad in this movie.
even the torture scenes - not than any 12/13 year old can handle without being impacted negatively.. so chill out.

iF the former FRESHWHITEBREAD is reading this,go dunk your head in some cold water.gO JUMP IN A LAKE,FOOL.
LOL

Great trailer w/ no ads on my view... they listened to your concerns. This movie needs major worldwide release and distribution asap; like yesterday!

simply fantastic! One of the best movies of 2008!!

That was crazy good I think that will be a very good movie to enjoi

I'm inviting a friend who is VERY CONSERVATIVE.
I don't mind but could someone advise me on sex scenes and cursing.Thank you very much.
I simply can not wait to see this movie.

According to http://www.kids-in-mind.com,
"About 2 F-words, 2 sexual references, 10 scatological terms, 11 mild obscenities, several anatomical terms, name-calling (slumdog, idiot, dog, fat), 3 religious exclamations."
When they lists things in the movies - violence, sex and profanity - it sounds worse than when watching. You don't notice most of them.

I sometimes check this site to see if our kids can watch a movie with us.

No sex
No cursing that I remember (certainly no gratuitous cursing!)

ABSOLUTELY MUST SEE - best movie ever ever ever

I just saw the film yesterday and there are really no sex scenes and very little nudity in the film. There is violence and profanity but it is not gratuitous -- it is very realistic and necessary in order to further the plot.

The overall message of the film is positive and uplifting, so hopefully your friend can deal with some ugliness in order to see, pun intended, the whole picture.

This is a brilliant film and I HIGHLY recommend it!

This looks like a great film! I hope I will get to see it in Evansville, IN

what's the song in the background of this trailer?

Its the Ting tings - "Great DJ" os the song

It's the Ting Tings, but I don't know the title

WOW! Slumdog Millionaire is an AMAZING film. I saw it last night, and absolutely loved it. I hope it gets a larger release in U.S. theaters sometime soon... it certainly deserves it.

Leaves you breathless, but wanting to scream to everyone you know to watch this film!

superb...superb...SUPERB!!!!

the music at the end of the trailer is Sigur Ros....great band the song is hoppinalla I think........

i am sure it will be nominated for oscars

Danny boyle can do no wrong.

Well, except for putting a tangible villian in Sunshine, that was completely unnecessary and cheapened an otherwise beautiful film.

But aside from that, Danny Boyle can do no worng! He's a genious and we can forgive him the villian in Sunshine, I suppose.

I LOVED Sunshine, and appreciated the "tangible" villain. It's one of my favorite flicks. Thank you Danny Boyle for not recycling the same, "supernatural" crap that's already been done many times before. Can't wait to see "Slumdog."

Sunshine is one of my favorite movies ever and i thought Pinbacker was a hell of a twist and it made the movie great.

hello i´m amanda and felicitation for this film and good bye

I saw this last night in limited release in DC. And the trailer, though good, doesn't do the flick any justice. The cast was great (espcially the children who were so adoreable), the story was good, and woven throughout the comical periods was interesting social discourse re: what happens in the slums of India. Definitely go watch this when it comes to your city!
