Marisa Tomei talks about the physical and mental challenges of learning to strip for her role in THE WRESTLER.
Both Marisa and Mickey did an absolute fantastic job in this movie. Actually all of the characters were intriguing. We keep watching it over and over again, always picking up details that we missed before.

BEAUTIFUL,BEAUTIFUL,BEAUTIFUL,I SAW IT THIS AFTERNOON AND HAVE BEEN PONDERING "THE MESSAGE" FOR THE PAST 8 HOURS.
INCREDIBLE FOOD FOR THOUGHT.I COMMENTED THAT IT REMINDED ME OF THE FILM "OF MICE AND MEN " MY HUSBAND REPLIED "BETTER,MUCH BETTER"
IT WAS LIKE A GREEK TRAGEDY IN TIGHTS!
THANKS YOU FOR A VERY UNIQUE AND INCREDIBLE VIEWING EXPERIENCE!
I finally had a chance to go to the theatre to see "The Wrestler" tonight, and I'm so glad I did. I am a woman now in my 60's, and as a kid as well as a young grownup and parent, I often enjoyed watching wrestling matches on tv in my hometown. I even remember going to one special event in our church basement, of all things. This movie is great, the acting by Mickey Rourke (whom I don't believe I'd ever seen before, but now I love him and want to see all his "old" movies) and Marisa Tomei, (whom I'd enjoyed seeing in earlier movies) touched my heart. I want to commend both of them for their great performances.
When the movie ended, I felt exhausted, as if my emotions had been dragged through all sorts of ups and downs. The characters were so special and very lovable people. These were people we really cared about what happened to them; their performances were so powerful! I just sat in the chair and cried and watched all the trailer at the end of the movie until I felt strong enough to finally get up and walk out. I came home and phoned one of my daughters who lives in another state and told her she's just got to get out and see this. As a teenager, she often went with her friends to see the matches here in person, so know this will bring back some memories for her, too.
The parallel juxtaposition of the wrestling life and the exotic dancing life imparted a deeper understanding of the balancing act between fantasy and reality that both art forms must endure. Marissa was spectacular in this performance, capturing perfectly the pathos and beauty of her role in a wonderfully sympathetic reading, and is totally deserving of Oscar. Of course, Mickey gave the performance of his life and also must win the Oscar.
Marisa, you made my heart sink and swoon numerous times in the movie. All the best for an Oscar. How about a date?
Marisa Tomei is a ho in this movie...one of the best perfomances
I have ever seen!
Al final Randy the ram entrega su vida a la unica gente que puede apreciarla, su publico. He is the Ram
(The Wrestler 2008)
No es que tenga que seguir este camino, es que es el unico donde realmente se encuentra a si mismo. He is The Ram
Quien haya visto Remi recordara la ultima pelea de Ram en paralelo con la ultima representacion del mico del Sr Vitalis, General, el show debe continuar.
Una buena actuacion es mas memorable que mil canciones... Mickey Rourke is The RAM
Solo eres ajeno tratando de alejarte del sueño que siempre has vivido
Then you've seen me, I come and stand at every door
Then you've seen me, I always leave with less than I had before
In a way this movie was a modern day version of "Death of a Salesman" by Arthur Miller.

This movie is going to go down as an all time great... simple as that.
