I just saw The Wrestler..not only did Mickey Rourke break my heart a million times while i watched the movie..i realized what a TRULY GREAT actor he is...I thought his acting was great in Diner and Pope of Greenwhich Village,however,when you see him in the Wrestler you fall in love with him.I could watch it a million times.

Oscar nominations for two gritty, touching, real performances that are rarely seen in a Hollywood movie. Marisa is tough and smoking hot and made my heart sink and swoon throughout the movie. (I think she's single right now as well. Damn, I need to do some situps just in case we meet someday.) As for Mickey, he knocked it way, way, way out of the park. What I appreciate most about his performance is the vulnerability in this rough and tender man. Beautifully human movie.

It's good to see a talented Director take the reigns on an actor like Mickey Rourke for this role. This is smart and bold film making and may very well result in a gem. Smart move on the other casting decisions as well.
