Bob Cilman talks about why the chorus members have -- in his opinion -- managed to lead such long lives.
i love, love, loved him, even when he was a crank pot.

Just got back from movie and I'll never be the same...wow..what everyone in this picture gave of themselves and to each other. pretty powerful stuff. And the way we the audience get to hear these song lyrics in a whole new way--brilliant! I laughed and cried till I was begging for mercy! Cilman and Co. deserve an Oscar for Best Picture.

I don't know where to begin.... What you so very modestly and generously impart/instill/inspire into your chorus---they, in turn, shower on all of us fortunate ones who get to see this film-------------pzazzz, tenderness, hope, joy, kindness, sass, artistry, compassion, a sense of awe ----I could go on......These delightful elders are still growing, under your direction.
You are a wonderful musical talent -----a wonderful human being......... and what wondrous things you bring about. Your selection of music is pure poetry. Thank you for unforgettable moments. I have a new hero!
Bob Cilmam is the real star in this movie with his creative ideas, commitment, patience, and talent. And so much more. He is "making a difference" in the lives of so many people. I kept wondering how in the world did he get started with this?
This movie was so many things to me; it was inspiring, delightful, sad, entertaining and wholesome. I didn't realize how well received it was until I found this website! It's wonderful to find out that so many people feel the same way about the movie.
I've been inspired to begin a Sr. chorus here in New Jersey; however, I was wondering if Bob Cilman would/could be kind enough to share his "business plan" for the venture and how would I reach him?

The man is worth all this and more! My husband and I wish we were 73, (Not 62!) so we could join the group right now. The song 'Forever Young' is a favorite standby of mine for Hospice and all age birthday celebrations. Thank you, dear Bob, for coming to your high school friend's home (Michael Hamberger) in Bloomington last night and staying to take our questions/comments after the 'Young@Heart' film.
I am ready ready ready to rock and roll and start a group here in Indiana!
With great affection and deep appreciation for the ART and ARTISTS you develop.

It's been 2 weeks since I saw the movie. One video clip from Bob and one reading of these beautiful comments and I'm crying again. How this chorus found the strength to continue through the passing of two of their most beloved members, and the simple honest emotion from "Fix You", are poignant and inspirational. I am very tired of a lot of what passes for movies nowadays. I think a lot of people feel like I do and are STARVING for meaty pictures like "Young at Heart". Hope Hollywood gets the message.
Thank you thank you thank you to everyone involved.
Bob Climan was an eye opener to what true love , talent and patience consists of. I will never listen to "Fix You" without tears in my eyes again. Hi Bob....you're a rarity!!

This was the most heart-felt movie I believe I have ever seen. The commitment of Bob Cilman and the rest of the chorus to entertain us is amazing and I am grateful for the experience. You will be truly touched by this film as the director allows you to meet and get to know some of the chorus members. If I wasn't already married I would ask Bob to marry me, but it looks like someone already beat me to the punch. I hope to be able to see a live show soon. In the meantime I will just have to see the movie again and again!
Bob, just saw the movie. You are a magnificent human being for doing what you do. You contribute not only to those that you direct, but to the millions of seniors who are inspired and by 'educating' those yet to be seniors.
God Bless You.
A senior!!!
OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just saw the movie here in Carbondale,Colorado absolutely fell in love with Bob and the entire chorus!
Keep up the amazing work. There is a place in heaven for you.
Ahhhhhh....Bob Cilman! We all know "special" when we see it;that "certain something" that sets someone apart from the rest of the crowd...how can you NOT fall in love with Bob Cilman when you see the tenderness, caring, commitment and absolute JOY in his expressions as he interacts with his choir! Bravo, Bob! More, more, more please!
Well heck....we all fell in love with Bob Cilman...what a gorgeous guy -and the movie was an inspiration and joy to behold...we are just getting ready to open a new senior/community center in Laguna Beach, CA. How about coming WEst to get a group started out here???
The buzz in Albany, NY is "Young at Heart." The word has spread so fast about these beloved seniors that they are an inspiration to people here of all ages. Bob Cilman's face showed such care, compassion and love for his group. This whole thing is unbelievable. When people here see this film
it is discussed for days on end. May God Bless Bob, the special seniors who show such depth of character and those involved in producing this movie.
P.S.The faces of the inmates so moved by these seniors and the big show at the end in a big theatre showing the reactions of the patrons were priceless.
Thank you Bob and Company.
Just saw the movie last night and it was so inspiring. Singing is a great "tonic" and the attitudes of the chorus members was so uplifting. I also fell in love with Bob Cilman. If he wants to meet a nice Jewish girl, I'm available!
Well Bob,
You have made it to fan status with women ready to fall for you! Have to laugh, but certainly understand from directly experiencing your youthfulness and playfulness. Yes, incredible - everyone. What a wonderful effort. Keep dancing, singing and stay cool and connected with your family. When you ARE that old, maybe you too will be more laisez-faire. (Hey - worry is normal for a Jew anyway) Enjoy. Congrats. Best - Alison Amherst
This is one of the most wonderful movies I've seen in awhile. Bob, you have performed fantastic guidance and energy to these seniors.
Are you single????
A fan in San Luis obispo, CA
Ditto to all the above comments. You inspire me to want to lead a more meaningful life, Bob. Peace to you and the group.
Hello Bob,
we just saw the film today.
What you have done, and continue to do, is magnificent. Your commitment and vision is extraordinary. You deserve to be proud of yourself.
Thank You!!

geez, what a swell fella (as the oldsters would say.)
i love, love, loved him, even when he was a crank pot.
Ah Gee, I thought I was the only woman that fell in love with Bob after seeing the doc. I guess I would be one in a million.
Major crush in Kingston, ON.
Wow! You're not only a "movie star" (with groupies and everything! Great comments here!) but you've done something with your life that has made this a better place for a lot of people - your growing audience and the wonderful, talented people you share with that audience. Who needs Earth Science when you've got the arts :-) Bet those teachers never imagined what little Bobby Cilman would accomplish. Thank you and looking forward to a seeing a live performance soon. LOVED the movie too of course. I've told everyone in town to go see it ASAP.

I just saw the movie this afternoon and absolutely loved it..laughed and cried and laughed some more.. I am very curious about how the singers got involved, how did Bob become the director and does he work for the city of NOrthampton? It was just a lovely and special movie experience.. thanks so much. Hi Bob:
You are really an inspiration! What a gift (mitzvah) that you have given to these wonderful "experienced" people. My friends and I laughed & cried throughout the entire film. I would love to know how you got connected with this wonderful group of people.
What a great movie..I love the elderly and music so...this was a HUGE hit for me on both accounts!!
Just got back from movie and I'll never be the same...wow..what everyone in this picture gave of themselves and to each other. pretty powerful stuff. Yeah+++ I fell in love also and I found him gorgeous both inside and out!!!
I FELL IMMEDIATELY IN LOVE WITH BOB CILMAN. WHAT AN INCREDIBLE HUMAN BEING!
I've just watched the movie with my 86y's old 'young at heart' mom.
Being a psychiatrist myself, and not a stranger to coping with disabling illnesses- I find it inspiring. The movie celebrates the heeling power of music and friendship, and -of course- the victory of the mind over body. Well done !
