As a stage IV ovarian cancer survivor and Latina, I just have to add my opinion that this movie is much more than a story about Mexicans, illegals, etc. It's about NEVER giving up! It's about running into a roadblock, time after time and never losing sight of an end goal. I am crying right now just thinking about it. Although I was born in the USA I could totally relate to the little one's feelings about reuniting with his mother. That's the way I felt throughout my cancer journey. I'd hit roadblocks, setbacks, some of them absolutely devestating. But I NEVER GAVE UP!!!

WOW!!! In any language this movie was AWESOME!! I rented it on PPV not ever hearing anything about this movie..My daughter called me and asked if I had heard of it and I said no, she then said Mom you need to see it...So i rented it and 3 days later I rented it again!!! I have a granddaughter who's maternal grandparents are from Mexico and have heard very similiar stories to this one...Carlitos just made me cry!!!!! Although some may view this film as being unrealistic and very sugar coated in terms of portraying the real plights of undocumented migrants seeking to cross the increasingly dangerous and militarized border, I found this film to be a refreshing change to the mainstream films that seem to portray only certain life experiences. The truth is that any film made from a Latino perspective that features Latinos in a way that other Raza can identify with is in itself an achievement!! It is a small step, but nonetheless I felt extremely proud to see this film featured in movie theaters all over my community. There are many other films that never make it on to the big screen and for those that live in communities where this film is not being shown, I suggest you at least let the theater know that there is a demand to see this film and other people that are not Raza would greatly benefit from seeing this film as well.

I havent even watched this movie and just with watching the previews I get emontional about it. I jud know what it's like to be in that position and I just wish that everyone could watch this and maybe it would change alot of peoples perspective about latinos. We don't come here to steal your jobs we come here for a better life and who ever said that was a crime?

THE BEST MOVIE EVER. I LOVED IT AND IT MADE ME CRY LIKE 5 TIMES. I LOVED THE ACTORS THEY DID SUCH A GREAT JOB AND I LIKED SEEING LOS TIGRES DEL NORTE ON IT. EVERYONE SHOULD REALLY SEE THIS MOVIE.

wow very impressed! just took my girls to watch a kid movie this weekend but now that I know we have this movie out we are going to watch it this upcoming Friday! we are in(Latinos)! I am so lucky I happen to live in a big Latino population area(Salinas,Ca) and with a big Latino style cinema (Maya Cinemas) with tapatio sauce for my popcorn! A boring telenovela from Mexico. And the actors don't look like real immigrants. Seriously, undocumented immigrants face real life problems and this movie is making a mockery of them.

The movie was amazing! I saw it this Saturday and as a Mexican-American living in New York, I felt very proud after going in to see the movie. It was very real, and I thought a lot about my parents and what they had to go through to be where they are now and have accomplished what they have in the 35 years they have been here. And like the Tigres song say's, they did it Por Amor, for their kids, to better themselves. It was about time that a movie came out showing all the heartache and suffering that a paisano has to go through to get here to be able to work, leaving behind family and everything known to them to come to an unknown land. It's hard and there is so much racism out there. An illegal reform is long overdue that will finally legalize people who are here to work honestly and that are needed here. Great Job!

Looks like a good movie with all those great actors and with los tigres del norte. Too bad we aren't able to see it here in wyoming we will have to go to colorado to see it. But I will definetely buy it if I don't see it in theaters.
