Vera Farmiga's portrayal of a woman suffering from postpartum is AMAZING. Although a completely irrational feeling, I found myself loathing her character for its lack of sense. Her character hugely contributes to the downfall of her family, and as a viewer, I wished she would snap out of it and act like an adult. But the troubled woman was afflicted with a disease and her performance did what it was supposed to do - spark an emotional reaction within viewers.

If you're concerned postpartum depression is the focus of JOSHUA, rest assured: It's not. :)

But the conversation between Sam and George did get me thinking about the (still somewhat taboo?) topic's lack of representation in film.
