ok, I am a computer illiterate, so here goes my third attempt. I feel she was superb in her character, perhaps a little fey. She appeared to be the only crew member to retain what the movie referred to as humanity. It appeared the rest of the crew lost what humanity they may have initially had due to the overriding issue of human beings in totality. Star Trekkies will recall the views between Kirk/Spock/McCoy as occasionally the good of the one outweighs the good of the few. In this case, none of the crew outweighed the good of the human race and humanity totally in the billions (perhaps only millions or even thousands due to the crisis). The hell with civilization, we were dealing with the end and extinction of the human race. If it means kill one or two, then by all means do so. I think the coldness that came through in spite of all the Sunshine served to lend a sense of reality to the characters, each responding individually if not harmoniously. Superb.
