Didn't know what my husband was getting into when we first rented the movie. Getting into it we realized what brillianse and were mesmorized by the vocals. Best honest soul moving movie ever! Cheered them on the AA. Please people, lets promote them by buying their movie and cd when available. For they deserve it!

This movie is just brilliant. A movie about a platonic relationship and making the right choices. The story and songs were just fantastic. I wish it could have won another award or two. John Carney - two thumbs up for you!!!!

I rented this movie just by chance one night. I watched it I thought it was one of the best movies I had seen all year. It was so honest and every word in every song you felt down in your soul. I am so glad it one a academy award for best song. Cogradulations!

It’s a simple and common story. It would happen to everyone. There is a touchable scene:when they finished the work, the guy invited the girl to his home, but the girl refused him because she knew what would happen, they would do nothing but just some stupid and meaningless things, and these would not make their relationship better. It is very touching me because the girl knew what she want. She put a full stop at a right time. In our life, many relationship goes worse because we don’t want to put a full stop and let it go. Sometimes, we don’t know what we really want.

My wife and I just watched Once for the first time. I have to say it is one of the best films I've seen in a while... The story was so moving and inspirational. I agree with the other comments about Falling Slowly... No one with a heart can listen to that and not be moved. Great film, and best song of the year in my book.

My girl and I usually catch Indie flicks,usually political types(her doing), and how neat that I caught this one and turned HER onto it.
A fresh change, a wonderful film irregardless of all that, and the songs were inspiring where, as a musician myself, am always looking for inspiration to help motivate me, and this is it.

I work at a weekly paper in a small town in Kentucky, where I write a movie column, among other things. After finally seeing "Once" on DVD, I bought it and watched it several more times. After declaring it the best movie of the year in my top 10 list, I talked my friend into watching it. I warned him that to get the full effect, he needed to give it his undivided attention, at least for the first 20 minutes so that "Falling Slowly" could just floor him. But he was cooking soup and would not stay still, and kept getting up to stir. I was nervous that the film's quiet magic would fly right past him and that I should have saved it for another night. But during "Falling Slowly," he stopped dead in his tracks and by the end of it, he was bawling so hard it alomost scared me.
This song is so beautiful... it made me cry when I first heard it in the movie, and for several times after seeing the movie when I came back to hear it again...WOW what a song...what a fabulous movie!!!
been following the frames for years. id normally not approach a guy in the street and ask him for a hug. but years ago i seen him in auntie annies in belfast. after that, i think i would ask him for a hug. just to say thankyou. and every success to the full band. hard working if ever there was a hard working band. and yes, ive cried too.

Science fiction isn't about space ships and monsters, it's about philosophy, theology and humanity in the context of the future and our place in it. Good science fiction asks tough questions, moral questions, it debates itself and other opinions sexy lingerie while having fun a long the way. I hope this film ignites a renewal among filmmakers and film studios to explore true science fiction once again.
