Director Adrienne Shelly discusses her inspiration for WAITRESS.
I watched this movie on an Air France flight, and laughed and cried, both for the movie and for Adrienne. We love you and miss you.chatchat odalarichatchatodalari

I have seen in a very long time. You had so much promise -- so much courage, light, and love within you that you have brought to the world forever.
Thank you Adrienne, you will never die in the hearts of so many youtube eglence avrupa webmaster izlesene video izle
Oh my god, i just saw this movie on DVD and had no idea about her death. I was so impressed by the film that i sat through all the featuretts and couldn't believe that one of the actors had written and produced the movie. It started me thinking how incredibly talented Adriene was and how inspired i become moments after the DVD stopped. After listening to Keri speak about some foundation, i soon realized that she had died. I frantically googled her name and could not believe what i was reading!!!!
My heart goes out to her family and gorgeous girl. May she rest in peace knowing that she touched the lives of so many people.

This was such an a great movie. Such a different an real take on a seemingly predictable situation. Very refreshing...I was shocked to learn of the tragic death of Adrienne Shelley. It seems so unfair that she is unable to share more of herself with the rest of us.
I just saw this movie last night and loved it. Then today I read about Adrienne's horrible death. I feel so sad for her daughter because she will not feel her loving mothers arms around her, keeping her safe. She will not feel the love her mother felt for her. What a terrible shame! I hope she will get to see this video someday, and hear how much love she had for her daughter.
Great movie and inspiration to all . It makes you wonder why the good people are taken from us .

WHAT A FANTASTIC FILM. I WAS TOLD ABOUT ADRIENNE'S TERRIBLE FATE JUST BEFORE IT STARTED. YOUR FAMILY MUST BE SO PROUD & HEART-BROKEN. THIS DESERVES GREATER RELEASE IN THE U.K. & ELSEWHERE. TREVOR STEPHENSON. NOTTINGHAM,ENGLAND.
I am a woman, mother, and filmmaker, and I was so blown away by Adrienne's incredible work in this film, as such a deep exploration of creativity as a means of dealing with life's disappointments, the ambivalence of motherhood, the life-affirming joy of love and sexual passion, and the ability of friendship to make the hardships of life bearable -- all in one small movie that mines more depths and humor than any I have seen in a very long time. You had so much promise -- so much courage, light, and love within you that you have brought to the world forever.
Thank you Adrienne, you will never die in the hearts of so many

THANK YOU FOR THIS PERFECTLY BEAUTIFUL MOVIE, ADRIENNE...MAY YOU REST IN PEACE...I WISH THE BEST TO YOUR FAMILY....
One thing Adrienne says in the above video that I find interesting is when she says she believes it's still verboten for a woman to admit she's fearful of the changes a baby will bring to her life. Something I never considered before! And yet another reason to see WAITRESS if you haven't already...
I have seen this movie four times and will see it again. It is so full of life's lessons. Love, fun, abuse, fear, family, wit and wisdom to name a few. I know it was in limited release, what a shame. What a special film for us all. A.\ North Carolina
This movie told me, to try to, move on with my life and not take any thing from any one,
it is to bad that she got killed this movie was excellant
I have now seen this movie three times, and it touches me more and in different ways every time I see it.
It's brilliant, funny, heartfelt, sad, innovative, creative and one of my favorite movies of all time.
How incomprensively tragic Ms. Shelly was not allowed to see how her movie affected so many people in a multitude of ways.
May you rest in peace, Adrienne.
Sandy
Dear Adrienne, it's not just your character who left behind a love letter but you yourself, in making this movie of such skill and such understanding of life, of women and of men too. Despite having women friends, despite being more psychologically akin to women in attitude and sexual choice too for that matter, though I can't claim to "understand" women, it was most of all your film's portrayal of effects of violence on women (and for me--of straight men on the lives of gay men too) that got me, emotionally, kept me riveted and, though far from being a guy who cries at movies, made me surprise myself that way. I was weeping like a baby at the end. I shouted out in the middle of the movie as your protagonist waitress was being abused by this creep--warning you to leave him, get out of town, do anything except put up with him--and the lack of a life he was foisting on her--in the end, on you. Dear A, how can I take the advice of critics who say art is different than life and I'm ignoring the great art if I just take home the male-violence lesson? How can people not see a connection between the way you were murdered--its unforgiveable resort to violence by a man--and the things you were (I guess) trying to put across as your own personal life-lessons in the movie, despite its legal disclaimer at the end? I'll end here. My heart breaks to think of what was stolen from you. love, Bruce
Beautiful movie, moving performances. Keri Russell is absolutely wonderful, heartbreaking and true. The cast is terrific. Ms. Shelley leaves behind not only a love letter for her daughter but a gift for all of us who can appreciate it. Just like Jenna's confections, Strawberry Oasis, Bad Baby and Falling In Love pie, this movie is truly a treasure, I loved it.
I saw this movie last night and was simply awed and inspired - as an imperfect man, I could personally see how my smaller acts of being a "bad husband" impact and alienate my wife, who is my best friend.
So, Adrienne, you have not only empowered women with this GREAT piece, you have taught/reminded at least one man that listening to and supporting the dreams of your wife is so important.
I am SO saddened by the world's loss, and only pray that your family and friends can use this inspiring work as a way for you to live on through others as well as for their healing in seeing such a lasting classic.
I believe that this will be a movie to take the year's best, and hope that the Academy and any others who provide official recognition will honor this as it should be.
Regardless, peace and hope to all those that you loved while on this earth.
Most sincerely,
Jim Longnecker

This is a great movie and very wise. I had no idea the author and director had been taken from us and her loved ones so unfairly. I am shocked and saddened. It is a great loss to all of us in this world. Bless her.

God bless you, Adrienne,
Your film, especially the wise counsel you put in the mouth of Andy Griffith's character, will continue to change lives, as it has mine.

Power of Love. That is the message of this film for me. Thank you Adrienne for the beauty you brought to the world.

Loved, Loved, Loved this movie! I felt Ms. Shelly took my own life story, mixed it up a little, and came out with this beautiful piece of work! I cried many times throughout the movie, partly for the loss of the talented Ms. Shelly and partly for myself and the decisions I have to make. The movie moved and inspired me and I feel it will be one of my favorite movies of all time. Rest in peace Ms. Shelly and Thank you. Ellie, Connecticut

I saw this film last night and loved it. When we were leaving the theatre, my husband told me how Adrienne Shelly was murdered shortly after it was made. How can such a gentle person who wrote a beautiful and hauntingly captivating film be dead and in such a violent way and for no reason? This is a real tragedy. Not only for her husband and daughter, but for all filmgoers. We have lost someone who would have given us many more great gifts in film.

What a tragic loss in future work ... poingant ... endearing ... insightful and loving. PJ
This movie is hilarious, sexy and totally touching. I loved it and highly recommend it to anyone!
This is just a wonderful, wonderful film. I went into it without knowing anything about the movie or the director. I loved it so much I stayed until the end credits finished rolling and saw the words "In Loving Memory of Adrienne Shelly". Puzzled, I came home and did a search and realized that she was the filmmaker/writer/actress whom I'd read about in the Village Voice last year.
I mentioned all that because I wanted to say that this film touched me so much before I even realized the tragic fate that had befallen its talented director. I'm somewhat comforted that her daughter will grow up knowing what a beautiful legacy her mother left.

What a beautiful, funny, sweet, tragic film, that is written and cast so perfectly. I wish it were opened in Full Release in theaters all over the world, so what Ms. Shelly has created would be felt the world over. So sad that she will never again be able to express herself. What an amazing legacy she has left in such a short time. Thank you Adrienne for such a beautiful movie.
