I love the movie and the book. Went to watch it in a very affluent neighborhood in the suburbs of New York where the audience was very civilized. They clapped when the movie was over and I even overheard one elderly woman said to another that the movie was powerful and compelling. I scanned the audience before and after the show and I was touched when I saw how closer couples held to each other when they came out of the show. Mira Nair has outdone herself this time. Kal Penn is offically a contender as a mainstream actor.
