Superb acting by Mickey & a terrific poetic ending, that's about it. Very weak as a drama, very uninteresting as a subject unless you lived in the 80s, it had no nerve, it didn't say anything other that there was a man who only cared about being cheered, predictable, touching at moments but it intentionally created some distance between the movie's hero and the movie's audience and ended up being another story of a vain man who pushed everyone away. I understand it deliberately wanted to be a bitter sweet movie, but the flavors were just too weak.
