SCIENCE fiction .......................

Not that this movie is claiming to be science fiction -- I can think of only two movies that would fall in this category (2001, 2010) but think of how much better Star Wars would be if space ships didn't need wings (no air in space), they didn't suddenly stop moving when they run out of gas (they'll coast forever until they hit something), and dragon-sized feathered lizards made a more impressive noise than an imported subcompact car "beep". Did I mention the "whoosh" of spaceships in airless space? Spaceships cannot turn like an airplane. In fact, to turn a spaceship you have to rotate the thing nearly 180 degrees from its original direction and cancel a portion of your velocity in that direction and start adding velocity in the new direction (3-d vector arithmetic is useful). A good simulator can do this and it is amazingly difficult, consequently, a joy when you succeed. Remember the video game "Asteroids"? Amazingly difficult to control that little spaceship.
