Cedar is a very soft wood and on guitar with no pickguard they get scratched very easily if played enough you will develop a hole just from the pick hitting the same spot over and over. Cedar tends to have a warmer darker tone then spruce which is why some players prefer it to spruce. BTW not actually sure if his guitar is a NP15 because the rosette on a NP15 is different from what is on his guitar it may be an EN10. That is what the Takamine product manger told me when I showed him a picture of Glen's guitar. Of course Glen could solve the mystery himself by just telling us!
