This is just a wonderful, wonderful film. I went into it without knowing anything about the movie or the director. I loved it so much I stayed until the end credits finished rolling and saw the words "In Loving Memory of Adrienne Shelly". Puzzled, I came home and did a search and realized that she was the filmmaker/writer/actress whom I'd read about in the Village Voice last year.
I mentioned all that because I wanted to say that this film touched me so much before I even realized the tragic fate that had befallen its talented director. I'm somewhat comforted that her daughter will grow up knowing what a beautiful legacy her mother left.
