Hi Danny!
First off, I would like to just say that YOU'RE an AWESOME, visual, story-telling, director I have ever seen!!! You have broken into the directory of directors great of GREATS. And you're talent is so aspiring to some many other filmmakers, out in the world, like myself, that I would like to take that extra mile to even achieve as something so touching and real in the world for people to respond and make action for. And the story that you've made, opened doors and called for people to even do so. Now India is in the center of the center of humanistic awareness.

I’m Bennett Hardeman, a Filmmaker/screenplay writer based in Hollywood. I am contacting you about a screenplay that I have written, about a dark orphanage story based with horrific true facts an events that involve orphan children, that I myself have also lived the horrific experience as a child. This is based on true story. I am seeking your interest to see if you are highly interested in helping me and two other producers, produce the script, titled “Silistra.” My story has a similar taste of what Slumdog was about. I’m working to set up a meeting with the producer James “Jim” Jacks, who’s produced all the mummies, the scorpion king, etc. to see if he will be willingly be a part of it as well as you. If Slumdog shocked you, wait till you read this abused, Sex-slave trading, labor working orphan story and the horrific facts that will blow your mind, drastically.

The script is in the CONCEPT to DEVELOPMENT. My team would like to shoot this film in Bulgaria for REAL and AUTHENTIC look for the story. We have 2-3 months to audition and cast actors from Bulgaria and the United States. As soon as I know what your answer for this film is, we can take this conversation and the film to the next step. I would be MORE than HAPPY to send you the synopses and the script if you are ready to work on the project that is going to reach out and touch people. I will only FEDEX a copy of the synopsis and script to you. Absolutely NO EMAILS.

Just to tell you, I've only shared this with my producers, and a few of my associates.

Thank you very much for your time Mr. Danny Boyle, and if you’re ever interested please do contact me (Bennett Hardeman) at your immediate interest.

MY BEST IN ALL THAT YOU DO,

BENNETT HARDEMAN

I know there is almost no chance of success of you actually being interested in my script idea but...Mr. Boyle I have a fictional script that is about an asian american young man. He is vietnamese but learned mandarin for a girl. after learning mandarin he writes 3 songs for the girl at different stages of the film, 2 mandarin songs one english because of a plot device, and each song represents his mood based on the situation at the time, and also it is not a happy ending. I don't wanna reveal too much because it is a script after all and writers are not so "original" sometimes so if you are interested in my film please let me know. I also have the 3 original songs written already because I had a producer for the film but I let her off the hook to pursue her acting career in theater...so now I had no choice but to look elsewhere for my idea to come to fruition. If this script seems appealing let me know. my email address is full_azn_alchemist@yahoo.com

Dear Danny,

Congratulations for success of Slumdog Millionaire movie with a story setting of Mumbai slums and accent of the familiar Reality show( Who Wants to be a Millionaire).

I live in Houston, Texas and had realized the impact of the movie on many of the NRIs(Non Resident Indians) and Houston residents.

The reaction from NRIs was mixed, whereas many of my colleagues have mentioned that they were leary in the beginning but were gradually gripped into the story and the plot.

This movie has opened a new path and approach for moviemakers to search for story plots in India for their movies beyond the Bollywood.

A like to propose a story plot for such a theme linked to India and yet can be in Hollywood format ( i.e not Bollywood type).

I do believe my story theme and concept will be innovative and fits into your mould of movie making.

Please contact me, if you are interested to know more details.

Dear Danny,

THIMAIYAS in association with Hope for Peace International Foundation would like to present a Eco-Film based on the True love story of 1819-the Queens ERA.

Hopif-India would like you to direct the film when you are with FOX,

The sory is simply a True love story, of a British Major , -Officer, fellin love with a Dalit girl, from the villages of Ajantha and Ellora, forests which are being caved and known for tourism in india .

The British officer was deputed by the earst while queen on a secret mission to submit the rich ness of the caves in the hands of the British empire then!

The girl he fell in love is a true symbolic story of a backward girl, daughter of a watchman, of the caves, and he had to loose his carrer on account of his sincere, & pure love for his lady which is more sensational than "Titanic", & ultimately sacrificed his life in the hands of the villagers !

THIMASIYAS, would like to cast-in ' Leonardo-Di-Caprio in the lead role as opposed to Frieda Pinto "as Paro in the film.

This film can be produced as a package as Fox being the producer. we have all licences from the Governament of-India to shoot the film in the caves .

Please give me your direct No. or E-Id for us to contact you and keep you abreast of the situiation .

This film will be about USD 90 million and cover world wide exactly in the scale of your film " SDM"

Please do not be silent on this matter, as we have not discussed this subject with any one except the fact we have requested Leonardo to play in the lead role!

This being a Environmentally a friendly film you will get, major support from all agencies and can recover the monies, with 500% profits ,should you make in the Hollywood scale!

Helping the creator to create!

Hello Danny Boyle

I am a 19 year old and like acting i have just throwing ideas at Directors. I think that you should really look at making a superhero movie such as Statick Shock. I am an actor very capabile of playing the role. My role model is you. search engine optimization

Dear Mr. Boyle, I hope your morals and ethics will love up to the standards you have in directing. Those children were not compensated properly and they continue to live under horrendous conditions.

I loved your movie. I love your direction and your vision.
I want to love your humanitarian outreach as well.

Please be the voice for these kids still living in the slums. Get them homes and give them the fair share of the millions everyone made from this film.

Dear Mr. Boyle,

I just finished reading an article on MSN.com about how Azharuddin Mohammed Ismail house has been destroyed and I must say that I am saddened, shocked and ill over this news. "Slumdog Millionaire" has made millions, yet the children stars of this movie have nothing to show from it. They have no education, house, food, clothes, etc. Where is all the money going?! The people in the movie industry don't need it as much as these children do. They are the stars. Yes, trust funds have been arranged for them, but they need something done now! They have brought fame to India, this movie, and themselves and at least deserve the chance at a decent life. Please do something to help!

Hey danny...Richard Bailey here, in Texas...USA. I have written the screenplay for a concept that has NEVER...EVER been done in the history of filmmaking! Name me ANY FILM that has EVER been done, and I can assure you that it cannot touch my film idea. The working title is "In Our Time", and it is so devsastating that I have only shared the synopsis with a few close friends and associates. They all concur..."THIS IS GOING TO BE A BLOCKBUSTER MOVIE!" I know you can't count the times you've heard things like "This movie is gonna take the world by storm...", but trust me, I solelmny swear that this film will!

Please know that I have the upmost respect and regard for your craft as a director and I'm not the type of person who would waste your time. I WILL NOT trust Hollywood with it, due to the powerful, historacal nature of the story. Since 2001, the story has undergone many (15) drafts, and it's finally ready to go to production. I will gladly pay your expenses to fly you here to Texas and put you up in the nicest hotel to spend time with me so that you can see for yourself it's potential. You just say the word and it will be done. I will only FEDEX a copy of the synopsis or treatment to you...absolutely NO EMAILS.

If this interests you, I look to hear from you soon, if not, I know that I am barking up the wrong tree!

God bless you and yours,

Richard N Bailey

Slumdog Millionaire's Child Actors Still Live in 'Grinding Poverty' in Mumbai

Danny, sad that of all the profits and starlight; child actors like Salim, Latika are still poverty - knowing they haven't been helped out of the slums the slums will never let them go...

Rubina Ali and Azharuddin Ismail, two of the child actors in "Slumdog Millionaire," are still living in the slums of Mumbai, despite the film's $14 million budget and worldwide success. Ali earned 500 British pounds ($710) for one year's work and Ismail earned 1700 pounds ($2414), "less than many Indian domestic servants":

Both children were found places in a local school and receive £20 a month for books and food. However, they continue to live in grinding poverty and their families say they have received no details of the trust funds set up in their names. Their parents said that they had hoped the film would be their ticket out of the slums, and that its success had made them realise how little their children had been paid.

Ismail is in fact "worse off" now, as his "family's illegal hut was demolished by the local authorities and he now sleeps under a sheet of plastic tarpaulin." Ali lives nearby -- in a "hut."

WHATEVER!->>>
A Fox Searchlight spokesperson said he is "proud" of their treatment and boasted, "For 30 days work, the children were paid three times the average local annual adult salary."

I was blown away by the depth in "Slumdog Millionaire". I feel that a director has so much power when directing a movie, and you just weaved "Slumdog" so seamlessly, I would be lying if I said I did not catch myself tearing up. Even though I am from the United States, and have completely different circumstances from Jamal, I was still able to relate his struggles to my own obstacles. A relatable film is so refreshing, because it allows the viewer to empathize on a deeper level with the protagonist. I am taking the Art of the Film this year, and have really been enjoying it. It gives me a greater understanding of the challenges directors face when they are trying to create a film that will convey a message (or several) to audiences. I thought that you did a superb job on "Slumdog Millionaire", and your film has made me even more interested in foreign cultures, and even popular culture in some ways. Thank you for making this amazing film!

J.

whether he Succeed or failed...

Hi Danny,
I just been watching with interest the whole thing around slumdog millionaire from the movie shots to the awards. You attracted my attention in the sense that you managed to pull off a big surprise with a cast not known to the world and this can be summed up as genius.I have a storyline that has never been heard of. I want you to explore it.This started off in me as an idea that would be looked at scientifically(archeologically)and go past or superceed DNA but failed to attract attention in research not that it was put through but its my feeling. So that approach I thought would be uphill, so I thought of putting it through a story.I am also trying to contact Denzel Washington ( Im being honest here) but I thought why not try your local hero since Im in the UK as well. This is what i believe in Danny and my imagination keeps haunting me daily. Get back to me on charlesreal68@yahoo.co.uk or ring +447787702421 or +441132730674 anytime.
please reply

This is one of the best movies I have seen in recent years. Great music, excellent story line mixed with entertainment & suspense. The actors you selected were a perfect match for this movie. Here is report in the local Omaha, NE paper supporting why this movie is one of the year 2008 best movies:

Movies of 2008: Cinema to celebrate
BY BOB FISCHBACH

What were the best movies of 2008?
That depends entirely on who you are.
As the old Paul Simon song goes, remember, one man's ceiling is another man's floor. And ranking works of art is a treacherous business that always boils down to opinion.

Still, if you see as many movies as I do (130 reviews last year, plus an unknown number of movies I saw but did not review), you can't help coming away with a list of highs and lows. The reasons to list them are a salute to the moviemakers and a hope that others will discover these films and love them as much as I do.

Ravi

I saw the movie this past weekend and was disappointed. Though I appreciate the story and the artistic approach to film making, I was left feeling that the graphic nature of the film causes one to lose the meaning of the film. I was hoping the movie would portray India in a more uplighting and positive light.
