George Ratliff, a Texas native, began his career in journalism. After graduating from the University of Texas at Austin film program, Ratliff moved to Costa Rica to write for a Central American newsmagazine and become a correspondent for a Texas newspaper. After returning to the states, Ratliff redirected his efforts to film and has written and directed features, shorts, and television programs.

Hello Mr. Ratliff,

I also am a native Texan, who unfortunately did not know about the Austin Film School. I just have a quick question. What would be your advice to someone who desperately wants to work and be involved in the movie industry, but finished their degree with a bachelors in graphic design?
Where would you tell them to start? I currently have a great paying job which I have to keep in order to pay back all of my student loans. After 4 years I should have done so, but during the time that I have to work this job, what should I do to try to advance myself into the entertainment business?
I don't know if you watched On The Lot this summer, but I couldnt be more proud and full of hope that I could share that dream one day also. Not in directing, but just being part of the creature animations, special effects, etc. I want to be helping the directors bring their stories to life. I am so happy for Will Bigham, I probably spelled his last name wrong. Anyway I look forward to seeing his first feature film and also any advice that you could give me. I would be greatly appreciate it. Thank You!

Accurately Based on the true life story of a real-live modern Amercian mystic, who is now finally coming out to the world after decades in seclusion. I know the man personally.

An otherwise regular, modestly-assuming, friendly, hardworking, average American man; our principle has been unwittingly, secretly interacting with both Demons & Angels and God himself through the entire course of his life, as they have pursued him. He is clearly gifted with spiritual authority and uncommon capabilities, which he has both employed and held in secret most his life. He has personally extended help to many of our nations poorest people, never taken any money for it, but has himself often lived on a small percentage of his own earnings in order to do so, living in what he calls: "Functional poverty."
Abusively treated by a psychopathic mother and an unavailable alcoholic father; he is given to deep, Einsteinian thought. He doubts his own sanity; contemplates suicide; witnesses miracles, which convince him to endure. He also had some high-action thrill-moments - spirits come to his aid saving him from eminent death.

God mandates him to tell the world, starting with this first - a famous Tele-Preacher.

THROUGHLINE --- Miraculous signs move the famous Preacher to become his unwitting apprentice. The Preacher meets with him, rejects his words, but then starts seeing all the gross hypocracy living in himself and his people. He begins seeing demons manifest, playing in his church and home. He sells the church, which is converted into an advanced, wholistic Town Center and Educational Facility for the Previously Homeless . The Preacher moves to a 3rd world country; builds an orphanage, med center and farming co-op.
