While members of fox searchlight may not agree the views of the material it presents, it supports the material by exposing it to the public. I was very shocked while watching the recent film release 'I Think I Love my Wife', and am disappointed that this would be financially supported.
The material I make reference to is the racist comments made in a scene containing Chris Rock, where he is asked whether his girlfriend is "white" (referring to skin tone). This scene implied that it would be frowned upon for an African American to be married to someone with white skin.
Although it could be argued that this was only the opinion of the characters, the film promoted a sense of identification with the main character who was involved in this scene. I will choose carefully before viewing anything supported by fox searchlight in the future.
