Mr Scott saw Rand's first film he made while attending medical school and told him to stay in medical school. They stayed in touch through family friends and and it wasn't until 2008 when Scott realized that Pink's technique of shooting a 10 scenes a day was the only way to keep budgets in line.
Wow this interview is awesome. Its great that there is a resource like this for non-established and aspiring filmmakers.
prime example of experience and persistance versus film school, a lot of great advice from a veteran director ...I really liked "time against creativity" ..true that! That and the 200% a year increase in film budgets... wow.
Does anyone know what happened to the Joel Schumacher lecture? It was really informative and amusing. The Lawrence of Arabia jokes he made, cracked me up!
