BEASTS OF THE SOUTHERN WILD is out today in limited theaters! As you can tell by the sheer amount of exclamation points used in our blog posts about this film, we're mighty excited. Last week, we were able to have a quick chat with Quvenzhané Wallis, the 8-year-old star of BEASTS in her pretty-in-pink room at the Crosby Street Hotel. We talked about a whole mess of things, notably brownies, cookies, ribs, seafood, and the chocolate fountain at Golden Corral. So basically, just food, but it's pretty interesting.
"As the Fourth of July approaches, you find yourself craving an antidote to anger and cynicism, a bracing reminder of the meaning of independence, and a helping of homegrown art to go with your hamburgers and watermelon, then this may be just what you need," he says, and we are inclined to agree.
Rejoice, fans of BEASTS OF THE SOUTHERN WILD, inhabitants of the Bathtub! This coming Wednesday, June 27th, Benh Zeitlin's magical drama BEASTS OF THE SOUTHERN WILD will be released in theaters in NY and LA!

Last night, the cast of BEASTS OF THE SOUTHERN WILD hit up BAM Cinemafest to present the film to two sold out crowds. After the screenings, Quvenzhané Wallis, Dwight Henry and Benh Zeitlin sat down for a Q&A to shed some light on the production of BEASTS. Check out the videos below, including a particularly interesting moment where Quvenzhané describes interacting with the "beasts" for the first time!
