I have been watching and loving your work for 20 years, and my favourite has always been the character of Edward Montesque Garlick from Good Morning, Vietnam. But the power and the talent that you display in The Last King of Scottland shows how truly you have developed your gifts. The diversity of this film from the films you have directed (Hope Floats-- loved it too) just leaves me wanting more of you works.

Just saw this movie and all i can say is WOW, i knew going in Forest was a great actor from his previous work, but this performace puts him near the top of the all time best actors list, simply amazing. an excellent job all around, and James McAvoy was phenomonal as the doctor ..just a very powerfull film.
If ever a performance and actor were worthy of an Oscar, it is this one and this great actor...Forest Whitaker! As far as i'm concerned, the Oscar is yours Mr Whitaker!
I cant tell you the enormous feeling of overwhelmed excitement,anticipation,awe, and just plain respect for the beauty of this film. I was compelled and hooked from the first minute of the movie. Tears completely streamed down my face in what can be described as gut-wrenching belting of the soul in the first song. The first music store scene is by far one of the best scenes in cinematic history!sexy lingerie lingerie My fiancee grabbed my hand as we couldnt take our eyes and ears off the screen. Was it the chord progression, the lyrics, the harmony, the melody, or simply the pure genious of everything infused together!? We didnt know as we both were moved beyond words.
