A BIG CONGRATS from Searchlight, Forest!

I last I saw the African leader, this is Africa for Africa ...I like it the 80% of the script... I wish he can come back to DBN and sack flippin Asians

Next time try to find a real African to play major African roles. This Jim Crow thing has to stop!!! Hotel Rwanda and others. There are good African Actors.

I believe actors who played those roles are African enough...thank you.

I hope if the real Amin was alive would have been so proud of whiteker. He is actually a model on top of the models who tried to act like. He potrayed the real african ethics by condemning the cheat of the wife by his personal Doctor.Gooooooooooooooooo boy!

I have just attended the African Premiere of The Last King of Scotland. I was extremely impressed with Forest's acting in the movie, he truly is a star and hopefully he shall finally be presented with more roles where he can fully display his fine acting range.

After the movie I had a chance to chat with Mr. Whitaker and I must say that he is as much a gentleman and nice guy as he is a great actor.

Good luck at the Oscars Forest! You have 27 million Ugandans backing you up!

I really want to applaude Forest on role as Amin he really showed me that to some extent his roots are from Africa. As they say "You can take the black man out of the jungle, but you cannot take the jungle out of the black man"

He really understood what was requiered of him to do.

Keep up the good work my brother

He is indeed a creative actor. He has portrayed most of Amini's Characters. Young generation wew are, but atleast one can conclude that indeed you are a replica of Amini. We eagerly await for its launch here in Uganda.

Mwanje from Uganda.

Absolutely mind-blowing. I hope that the glorified big screen movies do not overshadow the immense talent portrayed by Forrest. Other actors did well but this was just far beyond. If he does not win the Oscar it is simply politics.

FINALLY THE IDIOTS AT THE ACADEMY HAVE A CHANCE TO GIVE THE BEST ACTOR AWARD TO THE BEST ACTOR, PROBABLY FOR THE FIRST TIME IN DECADES. I HOPE THEY SEIZE THE OPORTUNITY AND EARN SOME VALIDATION TO CLEAN UP PAST AWARD VOTINGS.

THEIR BIGGEST MOST STUPID BLUNDER WAS GIVVING THE OSCAR TO JULIA ROBERTS FOR HER ROLE IN ERIN BROKOVICH, INSTEAD OF GIVING IT TO THE REALLY BEST ACTRESS OF THAT YEAR ELLEN BURSTYN FOR HER ROLE OF SARA GOLDFARB IN REQUIEM FOR A DREAM.

WHAT IDIOTS !!!

Go Forest, GO!

Mr. Whittaker. You won an Oscar for Your portrayal of Idi Amin "DaDa". Take it from one who's been watching actors for 50+ years. You blew us away!!,with your skill and talent. busted and dusted!! I wish the movie itself had been more realistic. Was in West Africa where they still stone and find it hard to believe that an African wife of such a man would chance that Scotchman. Was that Hollywood speculation?

I AM SO HAPPY YOU WON. WE UNDERSTAND WHY YOU WERE SPEECHLESS. I HOPE YOU HAVE ONE PREPARED FOR YOUR OSCAR WIN. WE WON'T BE THERE BUT WE WILL BE CLAPPING AND STANDING TO SALUTE YOUR WIN.

I first met him during auditions for Platoon many years ago. I didn't get called back, too whitebread I guess, but I say to the Academy "IT's ABOUT DAMN TIME!". Where have your heads been? even his minute or two in 'Color of Money' was better than the alot of career actors could ever wish.

THUMBS UP FOREST

Like so many others...I too have noticed and watched Mr Whitaker over the years. I was absolutely thrilled when he won the Golden Glove. He is an intensed/gifted actor..one of the best.

he has always been a great actor; Last King of Scotland gave him a platform to express his talents beautifully. Congrats!

he has always been a great actor. Last King gave him a platform to really demonstrate his talents. congrats!

He must have been drunk or on drugs the night of the Golden Globes. His acceptance speach was the most pathetic bunch of dribble I have ever heard.

It's spelled speech, you ignorant fool. And it's also called *drivel* - not dribble - dribbling is something a baby does or a basketball player on the court! You show your ignorance over and over in your post!

I'm the one who thought he had a stroke that night, a mini-stroke, but since that night, I read that he stumbled because he has something fear of giving a speech - many people clam up when they have to give a speech and he's just one of them.

GO FOREST WHITAKER - one of the greatest actors around! Not only an actor, but a writer, director, producer also!!

go fall in your drink or take a hit...he was overcome with emotion , you nitwit.

I'm a fan from the South Bronx. I have alway been a fan. From "The Crying Game" and maybe even before that I have noticed his work. There is always something so vulnerable yet restrained in the characters he plays and he's not so bad looking either. Forest if a big teddy bear of a man. Marilyn

why is it called the last king of scotland

THIS COMMENT FROM UGANDAN MAN LINVING HERE IN THE NETHERLANDS WELL FOREST WHITAKER HE DID IS JOB EVEN IF HE CAN NOT BECOME THE REAL ( IDI AMINI DADA ) I DON'T KNOW IF THE PEOPLE STILL REMEMBER AMINI ?? BUT WE UGANDANS WE WILL NEVER NEVER FORGET AMINI DADA EVEN NOW THE UGANDA IS STILL KNOWN BECAUSE OF IDI AMINI DADA, THANK VERY MUCH INDEED FOR ALL ACTORS TO LET THE YOUNG GENERATION TO UNDERSTAND THE HISTORY OF UGANDA (THE PEARL OF AFRICA.

Wonderful acting

Forest Whitaker is one of the best, I have followed his career for a long time, and he has always proved that he is among the greats, I am so happy that he is finally recognized for his talent.

Dear Mr. Whittaker.
Congratulations from an ardent Malaysian fan of so many years. So gratifying to find you being recognised for your nuanced style of acting at long last! You deserve so much more than the Golden Globe for your immense and indelible contributions to the world of film acting. With best wishes for your future endeavours,

I'm Sooooo Glad You Won.

You have always been a great actor. All the charaters you've played have always seem so real life. Keep up the good work.

I am so glad that Forest won last night - it was an acting contest, not a popularity contest - and the best actor won! Go Forest !

Love Forest Whitaker - when he won last night though I thought he had a mini-stroke!!! Hope he's okay today......

Forest U deserved it. You did a really good job acting like Idi Amin I wish he was alive to see this.

He is a great actor. I realised that when first saw him in a Jim Jarmush`s, Ghoust dog - the way of the samurai
