Can't wait to see the movie..... in HALIFAX, NOVA SCOTIA!!!!

Anonymous | November 14th, 2009 13:14

There is culture in Texas outside of Austin. You've brought it to Dallas/Ft. Worth, now bring it to Houston. Try our Alamo Drafthouse or Angelika.

Anonymous | November 14th, 2009 15:47

Or the River Oaks.

Anonymous | November 17th, 2009 10:02

Yes!

Anonymous | November 9th, 2009 08:41

COME TO CHARLOTTE!!! Come on...

Anonymous | November 8th, 2009 23:43

Is the free promotional screening in Chicago still taking place on Monday, November 9?

I hope so. If not, I would still pay good money to see anything Jemaine's in. Simply put, he's got fantastic stage and screen presence and I've no doubt he will overdeliver in this movie again.

Anonymous | November 7th, 2009 00:49

It was awesome! I saw it in Irvine, CA tonight. Way more complex than the trailer made it seem. I really can't believe the stupid critics. At least a few of them--New York Mag, New Yorker to name two--are giving this movie a fare shake.

Anonymous | November 6th, 2009 09:42

Fox Searchlight listens to "people" after all ... and NOT those stupid, know-it-all, I'm-better-than-hess, critics!!!! THANK YOU, Fox Searchlight for putting "Gentlemen Broncos" back out there and in fact, added more theaters in my hometown!! BOOYAH!!!

Anonymous | November 5th, 2009 23:48

Please don't blow this, Searchlight! Reviewers don't laugh at fart jokes because they don't fart. And if they do fart, they pretend they didn't fart. So welcome to the great unwashed. We fart. I saw this movie. I also saw Napoleon Dynamite at the Sundance Film Festival. This movie's funnier than that one; and I liked Napoleon. Critics mostly hated that one too. They smiled condescendingly at Nacho. But what do those two films have in common? Hundreds of millions of dollars. So get it past the critics and into the hands of farters. Then make money. It's about that simple. You can trust critics who make a thousand bucks a month, or you can trust the Hesses who have a far more lucrative track record. This film is a slow burn. Don't be chicken. Release it!

I attended a screening of Gentlemen Broncos and the audience absolutely LOVED it. All you need is a quirky sense of humor. I waited for a long time to see this movie and many of my friends are very upset that a limited number of theaters are showing it.

Anonymous | November 4th, 2009 15:20

This sucks! Who cares what the reviewers think? There are lots of people out there willing to see the movie, they just aren't in NY and CA!

Anonymous | November 4th, 2009 14:53

Saw it at Fantastic Fest and loved it! I've been looking forward to see it again, even. It's definitely a weird movie, but it's great. It was funny, had a good plot, and I think everyone played their characters well.

Why are you giving up on it?? The theatre in Austin was packed, and the audience responded well to it, which I've heard from other screenings. If most of the screenings so far have been free, then yeah, it couldn't have brought in much money so far.

Please give it a chance!!! I'm in San Antonio but will go back up to Austin again to see it if I can make it when it's still playing there.

Anonymous | November 4th, 2009 13:32

I don't care what the "Reviewers" say, I want to see the movie.
Why give up on it so soon? RELEASE IT!!!!

Anonymous | November 4th, 2009 09:43

Heard the disappointing news???? FOX SEARCHLIGHT is CANCELLING the national wide release!!!! They did a marketing boo-boo and now all the fans that are waiting must suffer as a result!!! I HATE their decision!

Anonymous | November 3rd, 2009 19:02

RENO NEVADA needs this Movie to be here. So i we can go watch it for family night on Monday...I guess we'll have to wait...*Boring*...i'm so impatient!

Anonymous | November 3rd, 2009 12:30

All these people who want to see Gentlemen Broncos.Fox you should really make this a more wider distribution. I'm from the UK and noticed Gentlemen Broncos has passed BBFC classification. when are you going to send GB to the UK.

Anonymous | November 1st, 2009 14:25

Seriously? Twenty-one theatres in the entire country are showing this film? What a disappointment. I've been waiting for it for a long time, excited, and I expected it to be released wide, or at least widER, but this is just terrible...no showings in my state. I second the person who said Camelview in Scottsdale, Arizona's biggest art theatre...I really, really want to see this movie.

Anonymous | October 31st, 2009 19:50

FoxSearchlight... WHY-ANOUS?

Being a young filmmaker, I have been inspired by the Hess's films. (If they can do it, why can't I?)

Naturally, I found out about Broncos, before the casting took place. ( I procrastinated and never tried out for the movie.) Ever since then, I have followed this movie, as much as my overworked dial-up internet would allow. My friends and I snuck in watching the Chevalier promos and Broncos movie trailer, during rainy-day P.E.'s. Since then, we've been quoting the videos.

When I got the e-mail announcing an October 30th release, and began making plans IMMEDIATELY. My parents and best buds were going to pack-up and go to any theater within a 100 mile radius.

But alas, I find that the movie is being released NO WHERE NEAR ME.

FoxSearhclight, I don't mean to be bitter. I still love what you do, but this is disappointing. So, if you heed any of the above comments, and mine. You would give this movie the release it deserves-anous!

Anonymous | October 31st, 2009 19:53

I'm sorry I crammed up my comment with a sob story.

Could you please release Gentlemen Broncos in Tennessee?

Please-anous?

Anonymous | October 30th, 2009 14:07

Bit torrent here I come. If you won't give me the privilege of seeing this film in the cinema I guess I have to take matters into my own hands..

Anonymous | October 30th, 2009 13:15

I'd LOVE to see this movie open in Harrisburg, PA but since its not a huge metropolitan city I guess that we'll never see it. Bet the DVD will also never come out, either. I HATE missing all of these cool movies since they only play in NYC and LA.

Anonymous | October 30th, 2009 12:49

I was looking forward to watching this this weekend and was quite disappointed. But I just realized that UTC is the University Town Center in Irvine. Yes! I will be seeing this next Friday.

Anonymous | October 30th, 2009 11:19

bummer. I've been anticipating this for over a year now, finally anticipating the October 30th release...to find out it's only opening in two theaters. Living in SoCal, I expected I'd be able to see it. I can't drive up to LA right now though. This really is a disappointment. Foxsearchlight, Why are you trying to tank this film by not allowing it to have a broader release?

Anonymous | October 30th, 2009 11:07

Seriously??

By the time I get to see this I won't care anymore. I might as well wait for the video release. I don't get this stepped release schedule.

Anonymous | October 30th, 2009 08:20

I'm so upset right now. WHY TELL US IT OPENS ON OCT. 30TH?! At this rate it will come out here in Harrisburg Pa in January..if I'm lucky. If you're going to run it like this, why don't you release direct to DVD and then I could have least watched it sometime in the next year. Because the trailer looks so great and because I love the White/Hesses team up I've been gearing up my friends for this movie. Why did I waste my time....

Anonymous | October 30th, 2009 05:09

When does it open wide? I thought it was coming out today! I am so disappointed! This movie looks absolutely hilarious. I can't wait. No one I talk to has ever heard of it, but then when I show them the trailer they crack up. PLEASE hurry up. We need this in Snohomish County, Washington.

Or should I say, Snohomonius?

Anonymous | October 29th, 2009 12:44

How long will it take for this movie to get into midwestern states?
Too bad, I was looking forward to this movie.

Anonymous | October 27th, 2009 12:10

Please open a screening in Phoenix!

Anonymous | October 30th, 2009 08:12

Harkins Camelview in Scottsdale!!! Need to move to a more art-culture-centric area to see the movies I want to see. Dang-a-rang.

Anonymous | November 2nd, 2009 15:07

Yes please bring this movie to Arizona!

Anonymous | October 29th, 2009 21:30

Provo, Utah.

Jared,

These are your roots... well, not really, but still: Gentlemen Broncos won't even be in SLC until Nov. 6th? We were really bummed to see that because we had the weekend planned out for an awesome bike ride to the theatre with our costumes and everything... Anyhow, say hi to Erica for me. Hope the premiere goes well in LA and NYC, whichever you'll be at.

Why don't screening work their way down to the South Bay instead of SF. It would be better if they took place outside of the city for everyone in the Bay Area. San Francisco is not the easiest place to get around or park.

Anonymous | October 23rd, 2009 05:12

How about a screening in Baltimore? There is always one in DC and Baltimore gets overlooked. Contrary to popular opinion, we are not part of DC. Whenever I've been to a screening in Baltimore, it's been a full house.

Anonymous | October 22nd, 2009 17:08

What about South FLorida??? please

Anonymous | November 4th, 2009 21:25

ANYWHERE in FL, Please! I'm in Orlando and I thought for sure we'd get this movie. I don't think it's playing anywhere within a thousand miles of here. I WANT TO SEE THIS MOVIE! Please, don't sabotage this film!

Anonymous | October 31st, 2009 06:52

YES to South Florida!

Im in the FT. Lauderdale/Miami area where there is a large concentration of Jemaine Clement fans.
Been watching the websites and trailers and clips for a while.
I was planning a night out at the movies this weekend and was slapped in the face to find it was limited and not coming anywhere near here.

Anonymous | October 24th, 2009 17:58

How bout Tampa Bay (the center of the Universe & home to many sci authors AND SCIENTOLOGY WORLD HEADQUARTERS!!!!)

Anonymous | October 21st, 2009 19:24

When do we start talking boycott, online petition, or other means of having our voices heard?

If CHICAGO, San Fransisco, or Austin didn't show up for a specialty film it would be on screens for 4 weeks less.

Anonymous | October 21st, 2009 14:39

Fox Searchlight DOES IT AGAIN!!!!

See, EVERYTIME they have a film... EVERY TIME- I can firmly count that they will give Chicago the worst billing, the smallest theater in the worst part of town.

WE ARE THE THIRD BIGGEST FILM MARKET. THAT IS AN UNDISPUTED FACT!

Yet, with ever-growing constituency we are treated like red-headed step-children by these companies in this City.

BOSTON, WASHINGTON, D.C. AUSTIN, SAN FRANSISCO, TORONTO ALL GET THE MOVIE BEFORE WE DO?

Boston, for instance has 1/6 of our Population... When you include their outlying areas and our outlying areas it is a more drastic number. Washington? Really. I can see any argument for Austin.

It is insulting as a filmgoer- a loyal filmgoer who so consistently sees SMALLER MARKETS getting films LONG before his City.

If you open a movie in Chicago the rate of word of mouth would shock a studio- but this is an experiment to them, something it takes snide cynicism to consider. Look at Paranormal Activity, small markets boosted it. They, in their releasing of films, undermined the Midwest so drastically, so often, it is offensive.

Anonymous | October 21st, 2009 16:23

Hell yes!

Anonymous | October 29th, 2009 14:26

Be happy Chicago gets anything. I'm in Missouri and we never get anything. Ever. I'm missing this movie and boondocks saints2 cause of my location.
