Videos From the FANTASTIC MR. FOX Costume Contest!

Thomas on October 20th, 2009

Gen Art & Fox Searchlight Ran a Short Film Contest for Young Filmmakers & Designers...

The competition was to create four short films tied in to Wes Anderson's stop-animated FANTASTIC MR. FOX. Each video should demonstrate how to make your own Halloween costume based on one of the characters from the movie. MR. FOX is based on the popular children's book by Roald Dahl.

The filmmakers and designers each received cash stipends for the costumes and videos, and one lucky team will win a bonus cash prize of $1000.

A BIG congratulations to the four teams! We've posted their videos below.

FANTASTIC MR. FOX opens November 13th, and until then, Happy Halloween!

The "Mrs. Fox" video was simple and to the point in a very clever, humorous way. The music, the narration, the art direction, and the animation fit together perfectly. Very nicely done!

Everyone did very well. If this is a competition, which it appears to be, than the Ash Fox costume by Mr. Neal is the best film--very impressive.
