The Hollywood Reporter: Review

With animation director Mark Gustafson, DP Tristan Oliver and production designer Nelson Lowry, Anderson has created a world as stylized and inventive as anything he's done. From the fox-red glow of a morning idyll to the noirish gutter scene where one character meets his end to the icy fluorescent glare of the film's closing scene - happy but not without compromise - 'Fox' is a visual delight."

Variety: Review

Employing a deliberately unpolished, herky-jerky style that traces back specifically to Ladislas Starevich's 1941 'The Tale of the Fox' but also variously recalls the imperfect but imperishable stop-motion techniques in the silent 'The Lost World,' the original 'King Kong,' the work of Ray Harryhausen, Norman McLaren's 'A Chairy Tale' and many others, the film achieves a feel that is at once coarse-grained and elegant, antiquated and the height of fashion."

Associated Press: "Clooney, Streep In London for Film Festival Gala"

George Clooney and Meryl Streep were due on the red carpet in Leicester Square on Wednesday for the opening of the 53rd London Film Festival. The stars provide voices for the lead characters in the opening-night film, the world premiere of director Wes Anderson's animated adventure 'Fantastic Mr. Fox...'

One of the world's oldest film festivals, London is trying to raise its international profile to compete with better-known events in Cannes, Venice and Toronto. Most of the 300 films from almost 50 countries in the London lineup have been screened elsewhere, but 15 are world premieres."

Wall Street Journal: "Kids' Movies Grow Up"

Spike Jonze's 'Where the Wild Things Are' leads a slate of classic children's stories coming to the screen - with an edgy, adult twist."

Elle: "Reel Picks: November Movies"

George Clooney achieves comic genius voicing a fast-talking vulpine newspaper columnist with a chicken jones in Fantastic Mr. Fox. Based on the Roald Dahl novel, Wes Anderson’s star-studded animation debut is both kid-friendly and a sophisticated treat, ranging from the totally sublime (the wild wolf salute!) to the merely funny. Sly references to the Andersonian oeuvre pop up all over."

The Guardian: "Exclusive Jarvis Cocker Track From 'Fantastic Mr Fox'"

It's Jarvis Cocker, but not as you've heard him before. Armed with a banjo and some boingy spring noises, Fantastic Mr Fox AKA Petey's Song is the former Pulp star's contribution to Wes Anderson's forthcoming film, Fantastic Mr Fox. Less than two minutes long and featuring lines like 'Zippy zee, zappy zah, yappy yo doodle dum,' we thought you might like to hear it."
