Enamored by the characters of the film, a Bench of Chief Justice stated that a situation should be created wherein more kids from slums get opportunity like little stars of 'Slumdog Millionaire,' who hail from Dharavi. In a judgment over the issue of central government earmarking for the development of minorities, the division Bench observed, 'Right to live in a clean, hygienic and safe environment is a right... Recently two slum kids Rubina Ali and Azharuddin Ismail, members of minority community, depicted their talents in an Oscar®-award winning movie. SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE to Unspool at 2,000 Theatres Across China

"Oscar® darling 'Slumdog Millionaire' has landed a coveted spot on China's list of 20 foreign films allowed to be screened in its theatres. Danny Boyle, who captured the director's Academy Award for the film, which also won the best-picture Oscar this year, is expected to attend the movie's premiere in Beijing on March 24. Hong Kong-based Edko Film, a distribution company, has confirmed the movie cleared Chinese censors. Weng Li, spokesman of the China Film Group Corporation (CFGC), praised the film for its 'artistic value' and said it is 'positive, healthy and inspirational.' The CFGC is the body that decides on foreign films for Chinese audiences.

It's hard for many Hollywood movies to break into the Chinese market because of the quota and also the rigid censorship process — Chinese authorities often reject films that may contain negative portrayals of China, its people, explicit scenes of sex or violence, or sensitive topics such as Tibet. MILLIONAIRE, MARLEY Are Top Dogs At Foreign Box Office

"It was less than a month ago that Danny Boyle's 'Slumdog Millionaire' jumped the $200 million mark at the worldwide box office in the wake of its top Oscar® wins. Now, several weeks later, 'Slumdog's' worldwide cume is a whopping $267 million, one of the top showings for an indie film. Overseas, 'Slumdog' has done the most business in the U.K., grossing north of $42 million. That's followed by France, where its box office tally has just crossed $15 million. 'Slumdog' placed No. 3 overall at the international box office for the weekend of March 13-15, grossing roughly $13.1 million from 1,800 playdates in 23 territories. More news about 2 of the younger actors in this movie having to live in man made shanties! And now the boy's family does not even have that because it was torn down. What is happening here?? They were promised new homes, were they not? With all the millions of dollars that were paid on this movie, the awards, which mean more money, HOW IS THIS ALLOWED TO HAPPEN?????? How is it that the people who made all this money are doing NOTHING to help? I am disabled and a single woman living in Ohio. I went from being treated as a decent person to being treated like trash when I got sick and could no longer work. I had to fight for 3 years to get help from my own state and federal government. But at least I has a car to live in. I just do not understand how the governments in all these countries allow their own people to have to live this way.

It nauseates me that the children who brought millions of dollars to Fox are still living in shanty towns in India. Fox, count me out of any purchases of new or old movies / tickets you put out until you do the right thing. I hope more people boycott you until this happens!

I hope you would save the slum kids because after all the movie is based on their lives. Please give them a house and a decent business for the mothers and the good fathers so they can be self-sufficient. How much is 50,000 pounds for the life of the small Latika.Slumdog Millionaire could be remembered forever but the kid it seems have just been forgotten in just one month.I know it is not your duty to take care of them but it has to be because you discovered them and you gave them a taste of the good life. It is heart breaking for them to realize it was just but a great dream in the past that was great while it lasted.

IT IS REALLY TOO BAD THAT THIS FILM MADE OVER 300 MILLION DOLLARS AND YET THE TWO YOUNGEST STARS ARE LIVING IN POVERTY. I THINK THAT IT IS ALL ABOUT GREED AND I AM ASHAMED OF PEOPLE IN THE MOVIE INDUSTRY WHO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF CHILD ACTORS AND PEOPLE HOPING TO HAVE A DECENT LIFE. THEY USED THEM TO THEIR ADVANTAGE, AND THEN THEY FORGOT ABOUT THEM. THESE CHILDREN IN INDIA ARE STILL LIVING IN SHACKS. IS TOO MUCH TO ASK FOR YOU GREEDY PRODUCERS TO AT LEAST SHARE SOME OF THE WEALTH SO THIS FUTURE GENERATION COULD ESCAPE THE RAMIFICATIONS OF POVERTY????

AGAIN I AM BLIND.

OMG I watched slum dog millionaire, I have had nightmares 4 2 nites.I never want to travel to that part of the world.
The way the kids are treated! and orphans fending for themselves!
A better ending would be for him and his partner to be shown taking the $$ and helping orphans.

But I guess compassion and volunteerism is lacking in India.

It is LACKING AT FOX.

Sorry but I have enough of MY work pirated by these schlenters and wannabe net media HOGS.
