The London Times recently published an article/interview about each of two actors appearing in Searchlight films - one currently in theatres, and one to open next month.

In "Brothers Grim," The Times says that actor Adrien Brody, from Wes Anderson's THE DARJEELING LIMITED (in select theatres now) "finds hidden skills" in the film. Here's an excerpt:

"The youngest Oscar winner for Best Actor (The Pianist, aged 29, 2002) is truly one of a kind. He is the only A-list Hollywood star I’ve met who actually enjoys talking to journalists. 'I’ve been to India before for a holiday,' he says in his wonderful cello-like timbre. 'Maybe it was a combination of where I was in my life and that it was too much for me, but I wasn’t able to embrace the chaos on that first trip. Returning to shoot The Darjeeling Limited was a profoundly different experience. I had the opportunity to enjoy India without the burden of having to have a good time.'”

The article goes on to detail his beginnings in Queens and the film career he pursued following his graduation from drama school. Read the entire piece at The Times's Web site.

The second piece I referred to is about actress Laura Linney, who appears with Philip Seymour-Hoffman in Fox Searchlight's THE SAVAGES, due in theatres November 30th. Calling her an "accidental screen queen," The Times talks about her storybook career on the theatre stage, which led to her eventual -- and equally successful -- work on the silver screen. Here's Laura on how age has played a role in her work:

"'You have a lot of actresses who are terrified if they’re 30 and they haven’t won an Oscar yet, and they get more and more afraid until they doom themselves that way,' she says, refusing to name names. 'Fortunately, I never bought into that. I’ve been conditioned by the theatre, where people don’t look at you and go, ‘Uh-oh, you’re getting older!’ Instead they’re thrilled that you are getting older because there are better parts for you.'"
