Wes Anderson's THE DARJEELING LIMITED opened on Saturday in two theatres in New York -- theatres in Union Square and Lincoln Square -- and, per boxofficemojo.com:

"From two days of release due to a Saturday start, Darjeeling notched the highest weekend average of the year with an estimated $140,000 at two sites, and distributor Fox Searchlight has set Oct. 26 for the picture's broadest release point."

The film also opened the New York Film Festival on Friday night.

Bravo to Wes and the DARJEELING cast & crew for a great opening weekend!

i love his movies how he adds little things that like no one else would add. like when hes in the hotel and it shows a close up of the chocolate. or how they kept going on about the snake. "i doubt he killed it" like an hour later in the movie haha. and i love his camera angles. and they conversations in his movies are awesome hahaFull movies online, Giallo Jumble 2, 102 Dalmatians, Dead Silence, Batman Begins, Cassandra’s Dream, Charlie’s Angels, Chopper, Around The Bend, Born Rich, 1408, The Matrix, The Banger Sisters, Message in A Bottle, Love and Basketball

I was in new york to see conan for my gfs bday. and by chance jason was on. we were walking down the street and i saw on a theater darjeeling i freaking out and we saw it. it was awesome!!

yeah whats the deal im in oklahoma and i have to drive 12 hours to see it in chigaco, it isnt even playing in dallas yet.

No Kidding!!!! I'm in CT and I have to drive to NYC to see the movie? I feel like there is a huge marketing boost for the movie but I can't see it anywhere! With the vivid Indian landscape I feel like I need to see this on the big screen.

When will you be able to let the general public know what theatres this will be shown in? I live in Tennessee and would hate to drive 5-6 hours to see a movie i have been waiting this long for.
