The actor Waris Ahluwalia, who appeared in Wes Anderson's THE DARJEELING LIMITED and is wearing the turban in this image from the movie, fashioned a tiny silver elephant pin (also pictured) for a cause he champions. He donates the proceeds from the pin to an organization working to protect Asian elephants from extinction. Kinda cool, eh?

Below is a brief description of both the pin and of Waris's history in jewelry design; the text comes from Yoox.com where you can purchase the elephant pin yourself and know it's serving a good purpose!

From Yoox.com:

"Introducing the limited-edition Elephant Pin, created especially for the opening of The Darjeeling Limited, Wes Anderson’s latest film starring Owen Wilson, Adrien Brody, Jason Schwartzman, and the jewelry designer and actor Waris. Available exclusively on YOOX, its proceeds will be donated to the Elephant Family, a non-profit organization protecting Asian Elephants from extinction. The pin, used as part of Waris' costume, is handmade in India, where The Darjeeling Limited was filmed."

"'House of Waris' is a small collection of carefully hand-crafted jewels designed by the actor and jewelry designer Waris. On a quest to preserve the methods of the Old World, Waris spends his time between New York, Rome and Rajasthan, working with the best in each city, from goldsmiths to diamond setters who once made the crests for regal families. 'I create in the lands of ancient kingdoms, surrounded by the beauty of history,' says Waris."
