Based on the number of posts they've made in recent weeks, the MovieMarketingMadness.com blog seems pretty happy with Fox Searchlight Pictures - and we don't mind one bit. :)

In fact they've posted positive comments about us so often lately that I was actually asked by a coworker if I was a mole for the site! (Alas, I'm not clever enough to be a mole for anyone... I'd make a terrible spy.)

Check out some of what they're saying over at the dot com, which appears to have launched in early 2005, and note the links below to MMM's individual posts:

  • DARJEELING LIMITED Display at Louis Vuitton: "I think it’s really cool that Searchlight so consistently thinks offline like this. The studio has done similar promotions with retailers for the campaigns for Waitress and Little Miss Sunshine." (9/24)
  • A ONCE Recommendation: "Blogging superstar Heather Armstrong just recommended the Irish romance Once ... her recommendation [has] almost more weight than some of the regular movie bloggers I know." (9/22; and for Heather's comments about ONCE, click here.)
  • The JUNO Trailer: "Wow. I had been looking forward to the eventual release of a trailer for Juno, the much-buzzed about film starring Ellen Page... But I had no idea it would be quite THIS good." (9/17)
  • ONCE Songs on WXRT In Chicago: "I just think it’s striking that this little movie (which I’ve yet to see, btw) is getting spread so far and wide by people who are genuinely excited about it. The release of a single is meant not only to promote the full soundtrack but also the movie, and if other DJs are giving it the off-the-cuff praise the XRT staff is then the movie will likely continue its success." (9/4)

Cheers Chris and thanks for the great buzz.

Hi Thomas,
It's me, Chris Thilk from MMM. First off, I'm a "he." No worries there.

Thanks for the shout-outs. I'm a big fan of both the films and marketing efforts of Searchlight, which is why the consistent blog-love. This blog is very much one of the reasons for that, as you guys give exactly the sorts of updates that a good corporate blog should, showing off pictures, trailers and more from the movies that are coming out.

Keep up the good work on all fronts and the praise will keep coming.

Best,
--Chris
