Fox Searchlight's WAITRESS was celebrated in style this past Sunday, April 29th at (a very packed) Universal Citywalk. The event was hosted by Star 98.7. For one week prior to the event, the radio station encouraged listeners to conjure up their most creative pie names -- and based on their answers, 50 people were selected to then participate in Sunday's activities.
The 50 Star winners, plus several participants from the Citywalk crowd, had the opportunity to dig through individual pies to look for and win the grand prize: a 1-carat diamond ring. In addition, there were five $100 bills hidden in the pies.
The diamond ring winner turned out to be an actual waitress -- who loves to bake pie. Naturally, right?
Free passes to screenings and promotional items for the movie were also awarded to participants who answered trivia questions correctly and participated in blind pie taste tests.
As a final touch to the day's events, four models dressed as waitresses distributed pie samples to the crowd. To learn what else these models-dressed-as-waitresses have been up to on behalf of WAITRESS lately, click here.
