Read Kerry Washington's (I THINK I LOVE MY WIFE) answers to the same set of questions.

Please i'm waiting since 2006 for the realese of Margaret starring Anna Paquin, Matt Damon and Mark Ruffalo. Please let us know anything about the movie, i would love to know the release date.

My two daughters and I read the book last year in anticipation of the release of the film ... then were disappointed that it was not coming out in November as we thought, but set to arrive in theatres in March. But then, more disappointment.... since we live in a small town it only just got here the other day. We went to the first showing we could make it to and -- more disappointment -- we were the only two in the large theatre. Lots and lots of folks are missing out on a fabulous story but should (as usual) read the book first. 5/15/07 suzq_001@yahoo.com

A beautiful movie about love and family. I took off work early to catch it at the independent film theatre in my city. I was in the rear of the theatre, crying, laughing and I fell simply fell in love with this story. I have seen most of this director's movies and she is still my favorite. I can't wait to read the book.

Message to Ms. Nair.

Keep up the great work. You make great movies and people come alive in your films. I feel more in touch with my own feelings as a result of viewing your movies. Keep challenging us to explore each other and are different cultures. We need to celebrate our differences and complexities more often. I am thankful that you have studied and perfected your craft. We ae all better off knowing you and many others have given birth the stories that need to be shared with the world.

I spotted a mistake concerning the age of the Mom and how long she's been in the U.S., compared to how long she was married when she talks to Gogol ("when I was your age I was already married 10 years").

Can the editors fix that in the editing room prior to the movie's wide release?

you do need oprah because this is america and most americans are clueless to indian culture. i'm sure that the producers of this very excellent movie would like to reach as many people as they can. i am not indian but an indian friend of mine turned me on to the movie. had letterman or oprah reviewed the movie or interviewed the cast, i may have seen it earlier.

I saw the movie and it was so beautiful. I too didnt want it to end. How they portrayed the love between Ashima and her husband was brilliant and so beautiful.

I loved it...am going to see it again...

...........because The Namesake was SUCH a rich movie - it filled my eyes, then my mind and soul. Kal Penn is a wonderful actor. His body movements, facial expressions said more than words.

I wish they did not have scenes of partial nudity....It would have then been appropriate for "mature kids". Great movie!

Hi this is Soumen Das from Calcutta.. I watched the movie today. I didnt read the book. The movie is ____, sorry I cant get any proper words right this moment. I must say that I am deeply moved by the movie. I am enjoying my feelings - an undefined and uncanny pain for Ashoke, Ashima, Gogol and all those goes or went through alike situation. Every person dreams and ??? ???? ?????? ?? ???? ??????? ???? ??? ????? ???? ????? :-)

thnx to mira nair and her crew (especially Tabbu, Irrfan, Kal Pen - they are not Bangali) for such detailing in showing.. e.g.

- dialogue throwing, dialogues in bengali accent which conveys emotion, bondage uniquely - i wonder how much care and effort she (Mira.N) put because its the most sensitive part (to me),
- costume - ????? ??? ?? ?? ??????,traditional bengali room decortation.
- in potraying silent and deep love among the Ganguly couple.
- i didnt like Moushumi's selection - Zuleikha Robinson.
- i dare to write about actor's and director's credits and skills. so let me stop.

NB some texts are written in Bengali unicode.

Gentlemen: I would like to know if 20 century fox is going to change to The 21 Century Fox Studios. Would you please keep me advised about the studio. Sirs! I would be very greatful to you .O.K!

PS: Tabu, Irfan and Kal are all brilliant. I didn't want the movie to end....

I watched the movie yesterday at Harvard Square, Cambridge. It's brilliant... For a Thrusday night the theatre was CROWDED. The movie is funny, compassionate and sexy in ways.... I am a big fan of the book and I think the book was better... but you know one always finds the BOOK to be better. It's hard to capture all that's written in the book on a silver screen. Just two words for those curious to watch the movie... MUST WATCH!

BRING IT TO ATLANTA, GEORGIA!!!!!

I second that, please!

How do they expect The Namesake to appeal to the mainstream
audience if they opened the film to 6 theaters ?
They are planning to open at many more soon. However they have no idea about marketing or publicity.
Has any of the stars in this instance Karl Penn made the
rounds of popular American talk shows to talk about , promote and preview a scene or two from the movie ?
Before Wild Hogs was released all the male stars were
on Oprah and other talk shows.
These dummies just cannot seem to learn a lesson or two
from Hollywood stars.
Better late than never. I hope that Karl Penn makes rounds of Jay Leno , Oprah and David Letterman to promote the movie before it opens in more theaters soon.

Dude...u do not need Oprah or David Letterman as clueless as they are abt Indian culture and the whole Asian community to tell you abt The Namesake...Its a beautiful book and i suggest you read it and frm scenes and clips i have seen the movie is def. brillant and a must watch. I think you should learn to reason n analysis logically and generally be aware instead of swearing by what a few others say and bindly follow.

why does waitress have a release date before margaret??? please let us know something about margaret. thank you.

Given the subject matter — caring for an aging parent — The Savages is damn funny, as long as you don't mind laughs that stick in your throat. The gifted Tamara Jenkins, making her first film since her potent 1998 debut with Slums of Beverly Hills, brews a volatile cocktail ofwholesale lingerie mirth and melancholy. Jon Savage (Philip Seymour Hoffman) and his sister Wendy (Laura Linney) have first names out of Peter Pan, but their life is no fairy tale. Wendy is a struggling playwright doing odd jobs in Manhattan and diddling a married man (Peter Friedman), though she has more affection for his dog. Jon sexy lingerie is a college professor in Buffalo, writing books on Brecht and alienating his Polish girlfriend (Cara Seymour) by refusing to extend her visa by marrying her.
