I just watched the movie for a third time. It just keeps getting better. Hyperbole aside, it's one of the most honest and heartbreaking film I've ever seen.
I used to ref indy weekend spots. Greg Valentine was actually on one of the first ones I did. The whole time watching the movie I thought of him (though Greg is far healthier both physically and emotionally) going from town to town every week just to recapture the spotlight.
These clips are great teasers for the (hopefully) eventual DVD feature. I love this stuff.
And quit hating on the wrestling scenes in the film. Rourke was actually 10x better in the ring than some of the guys that I've worked with at that level.
