"They put handkerchiefs over their face before going onto the ship that has been dead in space for seven years? No one brought a frickin' SPACE SUIT along? After it has been established that they HAD SPACESUITS? No one brought a gun? No one watched the door? No one scanned for bacteria? No one tried to establish radio contact? They didn't even try to shine a flashlight in Morse Code... Preposterous! These are supposed to be Astronauts for Goodness sake! My Grandmother has more sense than these people, and she believed in Faeries... I mean BELIEVED! and she would've had the sense to WATCH THE DOOR"
okay, first of all they didn't need spacesuits if they were going into a ship where they assumed everyone was dead.
and plus, did you see the size of those spacesuits?? they weren't something you'd just want to carry around.
second, why would they bring a gun into a ship full of (assumed to be) dead people?
I agree with the door thing, but I noticed her scan the air and said it was fine.
The ship sent off its distress symbol but their comms were down with the computers.
The flash light in morse code thing wouldn't make sense to anyone who hadn't heard of it before.
And it was written by Alex Garland, who was trying to add more of a dramatic effect than a science fiction effect. And if you have anymore disagreements with the film, you should look in to the screenplay. It's much better.
