Hi Danny,
I'm a British film student in San Francisco, you've worked with Julie Oxendale, my former screenwriting teacher. Being a UK/US. "transplant" I just wanted to say that it's brilliant to see other directors like you, Richard Nolan and others bringing fresh perspectives to big ideas.

I'm a writer/director/composer about to work on my first feature (or short possibly).
If you have any advice for someone trying to make a career in film (and remaining autonomous as an artist) What would be your suggestions?
one of my instructors says "make a 10-minute film/move to hollywood, get funding etc." while I find enticing to just make a full feature independantly/low budget and shop it around.

On a separate note, eventhough you produced and didn't direct "28 Weeks Later" to me, along with "Pan's Labyrinth" it is the best most rocking film of the year sofar, (if not the most well-made zombie film I have ever seen)
and I can't to see "Sunshine" and your overall slant on the Sci-Fi genre.
best regards,
