The DVD has the original Russian opening ("Why does the wind blows...") whereas the theatrical version had a forced-on recap of Night Watch.

I loved Night Watch .I have not been able to find Day Watch in a theatre so I can't wait to get the DVD on October 30th .

I have been waiting for Day Watch (Russian Movie) for 2 1/2 years which is the Sequal to Night Watch (2004). The movies UK Release was last week - I believe there was 3 showing at my local Cinema. I understood that this movie has just been released and so I believed that I would have another opportunity to actually watch Day Watch at the movies - how wrong was I.

NO Cinema is playing Day Watch in Hampshire UK!!! I would like to know how the Hollywood Blockbusters get Screenings of approximately 3 months (at times) and WHY a Sequal has a release of a WEEK!!!! Who asertains how long a movie is on release or do the Major Block Busters decide what movie is shown??

I am disgusted that in the WHOLE of Hampshire in UK - I cannot see this Sequal.

If they take away the starting it'll not only mess the film up but it'll also deprive people of a spectacular attack by a horde of mongol warriors. The start isn't absolutely needed but you could argue that about a lot of films. The american film industry needs to stop treaing their audiences as if they're all 14 year old kids with the attention span of a gant. It's also an insult to 14 year olds that they assume they can't cope with anything complicated

Hey, I read somewhere (really wish I could recall) that there would be an expanded release of Day Watch the weekend of June 9th-10th that would expand from the initial 3 cities to about 15 including DC (which would be where I am). Anyone know if this is the case or not??

Does anyone know if it will be showing in texas? i've been searching for days about places that will show the movie and all I have to show is LA and some other place that is not texas...if not, can I get a copy of Day Watch from Russia with subs from somewhere? (ebay or the likes)

It's a shame that I can find no info on the limited release of this film. I possess a bootleg of Daywatch that I got 3 mos ago, but still, I want to see it on the big screen. These movies are absolutely amazing visually, it's too bad that people can't endure subtitles.

It is sad that a movie that is getting such good reviews is not atlest getting a few shows in all the major markets on friday. I live in the DC area and not a one is showing it on friday that i could find. :(

Actually FOX somehow didn't learn a bit from the experience of NIGHT WATCH (limited release with practically no advertizing and totally wrong commercials). They tried to sell it as a vampire flick, not as a fantasy story. Even the US DVD sucks, compared to the other regions.

This time around they are also going for a limited US release and I wouldn't be surprised if the sequel was a flop in the US, too.

Please please please do not cut up the original film! No-one sees a sequel like this if they havent seen and enjoyed the original. Just repeat the fantastic style of subtitles from Night Watch and everyone will be happy.

Tamerlan's soldiers are warriors of light??? I just noticed this "interesting idea" in the trailer. Oh, man!!! Who will teach those Hollywood idiots ELEMENTARY history!!! Tamerlan - the biggest conquerer in middle age Asia - was actually famous for its TERRIBLE CRUELTY!!! The pyramids made of heads of the inhabitants of conquered cities, dozens of thousands of killed - definitely not the sign of somebody from "light" side!!! Only if by "light" one means the lights coming from birning cities...

I WANT sub titles and I'm American. Not all of us are stupid you know. There are plenty of Americans that do not have a problem with sub titles or foreign films; in fact, there are many of us who enjoy foreign films..what a novelty! And, this movie looks bad ass! I would really prefer that they don't hack it up and that they give us the real deal.

So, how can I find out where in the States, if anywhere, Day Watch will be released?

will it be released in time? or they will move the release date further and further - as they did with night watch and italian? i saw it of course, but i want to see it on big screen.

Not everyone has the ability to read the subtitles. Some of us for whatever reason have limitations. I personally have a learning disorder and it would take me a month of sundays to watch the film. So the english is welcome. That is as long as they don't hack it all up. As for the recap they need to leave the movie as it was intended to be. I liked the fact that on my night watch dvd I can watch it in russian, english or spanish. With or without subtitles.

No, I don't speak Russian but if you are too stupid to watch a movie and read the subtitles at the same time, then you should not have passed fourth grade.
I have worked in theatres and video stores for years and stumbled on Night Watch on accident and have been ready to pee myself every time I hear about Day Watch.

Do we recap all sequel movies?? Take Jaws or Rocky 5, how boring would that be to rehash the first four. If someone hasn't seen the first the'll go out a buy it to get the whole story line. Don't removed the ENTIRE OPENING SEQUENCE and replaced it with a recap of Night Watch. I

I've been waiting for this movie for what seems like forever...Some movie watchers can't stand what is put out in the States, I want to puke at some of the commercials I see. They need to get this out and they NEED to leave it alone - fans of this story don't need a recap. I'm just gonna try and get a russian copy for now I guess.
