I wasn't going to comment until I saw all the negative and I thought unfair comments about this movie. I've always said that movies reviews often show what's going on inside us as much as what's went on on the screen. I for one was at first reluctant to see this movie because I thought Chris Rock's other movie attempts were juvenile. But when I read his announcement that this was his first "adult" movie, I became interested. I appreciated that this was a slice of life movie. I heard a complaint that there was no plot but since when does life present a neatly contrived plot? The movie represented a period out a man's life, a particularly rough patch in his marriage. It was exaggerated where it needed to be for comic effect, which for me, I'm happy to say was very successful, since most attempts at comedy leave me stone faced. In general both my boyfriend and I have discriminating tastes in movies. It's tough to surprise us, please us, make us laugh, while at the same time presenting a realistic life issue that makes one think. This movie did that. It wasn't strictly formula. My suggestion is to not automatically believe the negative reviews. Don't even take my review as gospel. But I think any movie that creates such divergent reactions deserves a look. I would suggest you definitely check it out and decide for yourself.

Seriously Chris there were too many unnecessary cursing in this movie…it was like non-stop...you made a movie with a strong moral point, not to cheat (commit adultery) and at the same time lace it with such profanity and yes blasphemy the forgotten sin (using God’s name to express disgust or just in vain) trust me there are lots of other words in the English language to communicate to your audience…you must always remember that with great power there is also great responsibility...blessings :) RC

I am wondering why you continue to allow/help out/shoot/produce/ movies that blaspheme Jesus Christ our Savior? Do you know that we will all stand before Him on the day of Judgement and give an account? Would you use your wife or husbands name as a cussword? Please stop allowing it. So many children are growing up hating, killing, and commiting suicide all because of what society views as "ok" or normal. I know "it's all about the money" but I promise, on the Day of Judgement, there will be no money, no way out. We are all eternal beings and we will spend eternity somewhere. You should be allowing/helping out/shooting/producing/ movies that build us up, not tear us down. Praying you will have a conviction to do your part to remove such language.

I was very excited about seeing I think I love my wife!!! Unfortunetely you have used my Lord's name in vein. I think there are much more effective ways to get the response you are searching for than blasphemiming a man who hasn't done anything but love and sacrifice for you and others. You know that scene in "The Postman" where the projectionist starts showing Dolf Lundgren in "Universal Soldier", and all the soldiers start booing until he screams "Is this what you want?" and he put on "The Sound of Music"?

That's what I feel like. Every day the fearmongers in Washington give us a new threat to the world as we know it. I'm tired of all the violence, all the blaspheme, all the negativity. Show me a movie I can enjoy with my kids; and please, not one of the "spiced up with adult winks and nudges that the kids won't get." They do get it eventually, and then there's another sweet childhood memory of a movie they once loved riddled with hints of sex for the jaded adults who, of course, wouldn't bother sitting through a film with their child unless there was a little shocker in there for them. Please don't insult me. I love my kids, we read together and play together; let me enjoy a new movie with them without all the titillation.

Perhaps even a movie for us adults without all the swearing and violence.

I can't wait to see this movie, cuz it is similar to my life. I love my husband very much but we do get busy with our jobs and children and the house and yes we do get tired, sometimes to tired to make love. But I still find the time to do it. But maybe just maybe the guys could enhance the mood a little to make us feel like getting in the mood or show some effort that would show her that you still are interested in her. but yes it is very tiresome trying to hold everything down and still please the old man. There is always another chick out there that is going to turn yor man's head, I don't worry about that too much cuz I know he married me for a reason. She might look good but is she going to hold down all her womenly duties. Probably not, anyhow Chris keep up the great work you are truley funny, and I believe this movie is going to be a blast. They always are.
