The hero of THANK YOU FOR SMOKING is Nick Naylor (Aaron Eckhart), chief spokesman for Big Tobacco, who makes his living defending the rights of smokers and cigarette makers in today's neo-puritanical culture. Confronted by health zealots out to ban tobacco and an opportunistic senator (William H. Macy) who wants to put poison labels on cigarette packs, Nick goes on a PR offensive, spinning away the dangers of cigarettes on TV talk shows and enlisting a Hollywood super-agent (Rob Lowe) to promote smoking in movies. Nick's newfound notoriety attracts the attention of both tobacco's head honcho (Robert Duvall) and an investigative reporter for an influential Washington daily (Katie Holmes). Nick says he is just doing what it takes to pay the mortgage, but he begins to think about how his work makes him look in the eyes of his young son Joey (Cameron Bright).

Once we realize that, what do we do? The appropriate thing, in my judgment, is to respond to Thank You For Smoking's put-downs.

I didn't think "Thank You for Smoking" was all that good. I was expecting a really funny movie! I didn't think it was all that funny! Don't see it!

This was one of the best movies ever. It was so funny i cant believe it. The way it shows that you can make people do pretty much anything with the power of words is great. America keeps making it harder and harder on smokers with all these new laws and this movie pretty much fights for smokers. Not only do we already smell like smoke and have bad breath but now we cant even smoke outside anymore whats up with that.
anyway
This movie is really cool me and all my friends loved it. To the director: hey bro keep on keepin on, because your doing great. Nice job to all the actors i dont think anyone else could have done better than Aaron Eckhart and Katie Holmes. Im truly impressed.
