I just finished sending out a mass email to family and friends recommending the movie and asking them to support it. From California to Cape Cod (my old neck of the woods where it starts tomorrow, June 1st)

I can't stop singing the songs, I can't stop thinking about the movie! It's been 2 days and I've had to download the music, I have no chance of buying it here.It is such a simple but deep movie with a message of hope and friendship and love of course.

I saw it at home, alone, and couldn't wait to
tell others how much I enjoyed the movie and

This movie is amazing. Glen and Marketa are amazing. I was looking for a movie that really expressed true life, and this was it. Hurt, sadness, love, hope, happiness. Nice work!

Just beautiful: the story, the lyrics, songs&rythm ... everything is poetic and touching! A little bit of sadness, a lot of hope and a touch of magic in reality.
I saw it in Rio de Janeiro (I´m sure: couldn´t have had a better background to see it)

I was auditioning in New York City. My college auditions to be exact. I was stressed, tired, and getting toward the end of my rope with all the singing and dancing and monologues. As i got back to the hotel I flopped down on my roll-away bed and flipped through the movies they offered. I came across Once. I saw that it was set in Ireland (a beautiful country I had the chance to live in last summer) and decided to give it a go. It moved me. I loved it and couldn't believe how beautiful it was. The music moved me to tears but what i really loved was that it inspired me. Inspired me to keep going. The next day I went into those audition rooms with a new outlook. This is a beautiful film!

This is a amanzing film a really impressive piece of work. When I lived in Dublin I saw some of a street musiciam with a hight talent.I saw the film two days before oscars, and it was a really nice surprise to know that it win a oscar.

a Catalan girl who always misses Ireland

What a dreadful, pompous, pretentious movie.

i think it was a terrible movie with all the wannabe hippies who are really far from the real ones, bad acting-cheap screenplay, a nonsense lovestory.where they had the money for the studio? where he got the money to buy to piano for the girl? very boring film which is different from the hollywood crap that`s true but this only does not make it special.real shit!

shite

Tremendous, best film I have seen in a very long time. I wouldn't have changed a thing.

yes it's great and glen's band The Frames are really great too, however they do not appear in this movie like the caption states. the band in the movie are actors.

if the frames ever play a show in your town, you'll love them - so go!

A-M-A-Z-I-N-G !!!!!!!!! first thing I did after seeing the movie was went looking for a soundtrack. At 11:30 PM! Luckily, Harry Potter book was comming out so the Borders was open :) One of the best stories, best music, mah, best movies I have ever seen.
Couldn't help but love it.

This film is excellent, its so real and honest. The music is great, looking forward to the CD on 4/12/07

I was laughing, reminissing about Dublin, crying at the end, filled with emotion. Excellent excellent!!!

I can only find it in two cinemas here in the UK, luckily one is my hometown..
Shame, as I know people in other parts of the country trying to get to see it.

I'm going to see it tonight, looking forward to it, the music alone is fabulous.

Well done to everyone invovled.

Lovelovelove this movie. The first time I saw it I went straight to the CD store and bought the soundtrack. The guy knew I'd been to the movie because he said everyone comes straight to buy the soundtrack.

Just saw it again last night and took 5 friends. Spread the word!

P.S. Glen and Marketa - PLEASE come to Austin! We would be so happy to have you!

Saw this film at the Auckland (New Zealand) Film Festival - and it was fantastic. Looking to get the CD - the music was great.

this film was very good the thing that impressed me the most was the music. i saw Once last night and already i had a friend burn the soundtrack for me.

this film is simple and pure while delivering its message of remaining committed to your values while staying open to new experiences. the music is spellbinding; these modern troubadours bring solace and soul to us all. "once" is a gem.

I recently saw this film and was amazed. I normally am not inclined to see these types of movies, but was surprisingly moved. This movie was gorgeous. And the humor was so geniune. This was the most sincere movie I have ever seen.

I hope it makes it to more theaters.

I only heard about this movie last Wednesday at a weekly music gathering. Something about the song "Falling Slowly" was so hypnotic. A friend and I have already learned it and will play it tomorrow evening.

When is the movie coming to Tennessee. We are telling everyone to see it!

Pick up the "Once" soundtrack featuring ith songs by Markéta Irglová and Frames frontman Glen Hansard for only $11.99 at Newbury Comics!

My wife and I saw the film last week at the Arclight here in Los Angeles. It is a very special film. Everyone who participated in the creation of it should feel so proud.

I found myself smiling, laughing, moving to the beat of the music, wiping tears from my eyes...this movie works on so many levels. The audience we saw it with applauded on more than one occassion. Just GREAT!

There's a really good article on the movie in this months
Filmmaker magazine. Director, John Carney sheds some light on the film and the process. I am amazed at learning it was shot in 2 weeks for 100,000. Fantastic testament to Cast and Crew.

I just finished sending out a mass email to family and friends recommending the movie and asking them to support it. From California to Cape Cod (my old neck of the woods where it starts tomorrow, June 1st)

Man, I hope FoxSearchlight stays with this baby. I actually have hope again for 'the magic of movies'

Enjoy 'Once' Where ever you may find it.

All the best,

just saw once in san francisco...and i've fallen in love with marketa...you can't help it! the movie is a true gem.

I saw the film last night, and thought it was adorable. The images of the girl walking on the streets of Dublin dragging the hoover are a gem. No need to say that the music steals your heart from the very first tune. Nevertheless, I have a couple of questions that would appreciate someone clarified for me. English is not my mother language, and during the last two scenes I lost a lot of what the characters said in the dialogues. 1) Where did the boy get the money from to buy the piano for the girl? 2) What was really the end of the story? Is it assumable that the boy was coming back to her on the bus that stopped by the girl's house at the very end? I'm sure this was all clear for the English-speaking audience, since most likely the clues were in the dialogues. Could someone answer these questions for me? Thanks! I am pretty sure this movie will become a cult film for our generation, and that its images will linger in our hearts for a long time.

the guy got the money from his father, he gave him some money to give him a start in england and thats how he bought her the piano.......and im pretty sure he went to england and not to the girls house

when will it come to Texas? - I know about 50 people here that want to see it.

Come On Fox, don't start some smarty-alex brain-bending release schedule that was dreamt up by an MBA grad.

Let us see the movie!

Will the movie be coming to Atlanta. We would love to have the opportunity to see it down south!

The movie releases on MAY 16th in LA and NY and then all over the us over the next few weeks. It WILL be in Florida.

check www.foxsearchlight.com/once or www.myspace.com/oncethemovie for info on the remaining advanced screenings.

salut

Will this movie have a wider range of release? I'm in Florida. I already know I will love it. Glen's music is amazing.

Great mini-site for the film, but all of the tracks that play on said site are mislabeled, aside from, perhaps, Falling Slowly. For instance, 'If You Want Me' is labeled as 'Mind's Made Up' which is actually 'When Your Mind's Made Up' and plays later.

Screening dates and locations:

April 29th - Boston
May 2nd - Philadelphia
May 3rd - Washington D.C.
May 4th - Toronto
May 7th - Detroit
May 8th - Chicago
May 9th - St. Louis
May 10th - Memphis
May 11th - Dallas
May 14th - Phoenix
May 16th - San Diego
May 17th - San Francisco
May 18th - Seattle

Any info on tickets or theaters?

This movie has screening dates set across the US, but is there any new information about location and ticket information? Right now, there are only dates.

I recently saw this film at the Sonoma Valley Film Festival in California and it is amazing. Stunning music, honest and moving performances, and a heart. I just hope it opens somewhere near me soon so I can see it again. I am recommending it to everyone I know. I can't say enough about this movie. A beautiful, beautiful, film. Eveything a movie should be: funny, touching, and heartfelt.
